If you want to help decarbonize the shipping industry and drive the development of hydraulics and fuel injection equipment, this role might be perfect for you.We are looking for a passionate Digital Tools Development Engineer for research and development within power hydraulics and fuel injection for our MAN B&W two-stroke engines. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team transforming new ideas into solid, well-documented design concepts used in our engineering departments.You’ll will play an important roleYou will:

• Develop digital tools to enhance our concept development process and support the engineering departments in applying our design concepts.
• Collaborate closely with our experts in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to ensure seamless integration of our digital tools with MBSE methodologies.
• Actively participate in the ideation process and concept development, contributing with your analytical approach and ability to identify complex correlations.
• Clearly present complex subjects to various audiences, ensuring key points are effectively communicated.

We imagine that you:

• Are experienced in developing software for internal technical applications. Experience with one or more of the following tools would be an advantage: Python, SQL databases, Git.
• Are skilled in systems thinking and can understand complex system interactions.
• Take a pride in ensuring the documentation of your work is clear and concise.
• Are eager to learn and grow as an expert, enjoying collaboration and sharing ideas with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Could have knowledge about one or more of the following subjects: Frontend development, unit testing, code review practices, collaborative workflows, requirements management, MBSE methodologies and tools.
• Hold an M.Sc./Ph.D. degree in relevant field or similar equivalent experience.

Welcome to Hydraulics and Fuel Injection ConceptsYou will join the Hydraulics and Fuel Injection Concepts department within the functional area Hydraulics and Injection Development of two-stroke R&D. We are responsible for developing fuel injection concepts and design prototypes for fuel equipment, hydraulic components, and systems. Together with our closest colleagues, we analyze structural and thermal loads on our components, we run simulations of both injection and combustion, and conduct tests on both test rigs and real engines to validate new concepts and designs.We are collaborating with various departments within and outside R&D on a diverse tasks and projects.
