Through our unique combination of household heroes and energy assets, we’re at the heart of the energy transition in Ireland, strengthening the country’s energy security and helping customers get ready for a net zero future.Key accountabilitiesSEO Strategy & Management:Develop and implement an effective SEO strategy, focusing on both technical and on-page SEO to improve search rankings, organic traffic, and conversions. Ensure SEO is integrated into all content planning and creation processesAdapt search strategy to account for the rise of large language models (LLMs) and AI-driven search, incorporating generative search optimisation techniquesProduce monthly SEO reports for senior stakeholders, demonstrating channel performance and contribution to sales and leads.Coordinate with marketing teams on Digital PR initiatives to boost brand visibility, increase high-authority backlinks, and improve topical authority in searchTechnical SEO Management:Conduct regular technical SEO audits, addressing issues related to crawlability, indexing, page speed, and mobile optimisation. Work with developers to ensure SEO best practices are followed during site updatesKeyword Research & Content Optimisation:Conduct ongoing keyword research to inform content creation and ensure alignment with search trends. Optimise existing web content, including product pages, landing pages, and blog posts, to improve search engine rankings and relevanceOn-Page SEO:Implement on-page SEO techniques such as meta descriptions, title tags, header tags, and internal linking. Continuously monitor search engine performance to identify areas for improvementPersonalised messaging content (BNA) optimisation:Lead bi-weekly calls with the customer value management team to prioritise and manage the personalisation content pipelineAnalyse dashboards and performance reports to assess CTR, conversion rates, and content effectivenessBuild optimised content in the CMS to support targeted customer actionsBacklink Strategy:Develop and execute a strategy to build high-quality backlinks, collaborating with external partners to improve domain authority and enhance off-page SEO effortsSEO Performance Monitoring & Reporting:Track and analyse SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, and AdThena. Regularly report on organic traffic, rankings, and areas for improvement to internal stakeholdersContent Creation & Management:Work closely with the Digital Experience Managers, CVM team, Social Media Manager and Designer/Copywriter to support and oversee the creation, optimisation, and management and optimisation of website content across channels. ensuring it is SEO-friendly and aligned with business objectivesManage the content lifecycle within the CMS and collaborate with the Digital Experience Managers on broader content strategies.Develop and maintain a content roadmap, identifying gaps and opportunities through competitor benchmarking, keyword research and user behaviour analysisEnsure all content meets brand guidelines, tone-of-voice, accessibility standards, and SEO best practicesHomepage & IA Management:Support bi-weekly homepage reviews with stakeholders to assess performance, optimise information architecture (IA), and ensure content is in line with SEO goals and user journey enhancementsRegulatory & Compliance Updates:Work closely with the Digital Experience Managers to ensure all web content meets legal and regulatory standards, including accessibility and GDPR requirementsCollaborate with legal and compliance teams to maintain up-to-date terms and conditionsRewards Program Content Management:Work closely with the Digital Experience Managers and Rewards Manager to manage content updates for the Rewards Program, ensuring alignment with SEO best practices and providing a seamless digital experience for usersTrack program engagement and optimise content accordinglyCross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:Work closely with the Digital Experience Managers, social media and overall marketing team, and development teams to ensure SEO strategies and content updates are implemented effectively. Act as the SEO expert in cross-functional meetings and projectsAd-hoc Digital Projects and Initiatives:Lead and manage key digital projects that align with the BGEs digital transformation journey. This may include initiatives such as the integration of new digital tools, trust and 3rd party review scores, website migrations, or pilot programs for new technologies that enhance SEO and content capabilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Digital Tech Services, marketing, and product development, to ensure project goals are met and SEO best practices are followed throughout.Stay up-to-date on emerging digital trends and innovations, ensuring the business remains competitive in the evolving digital landscapeBusiness ExpertiseStrong understanding of SEO best practices, technical SEO, and content strategy with a proven track record of driving organic traffic and improving search rankingsExtensive experience in keyword research, on-page optimisation, and managing backlink strategiesFamiliarity with SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs) and CMS platforms for content management and optimisation.Experience managing large-scale content updates and projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and business objectivesProven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, driving cross-functional alignment on content and SEO goalsAbility to manage third-party partners and internal stakeholders to execute content updates in alignment with business goals.Familiarity with Agile methodologies, writing user stories, and working within a sprint framework to deliver content changes efficientlyProven experience in delivering content for commercial targets, including offers and product pagesSolid understanding of the Irish energy industry, specifically in relation to regulatory requirements for digital content preferred but not necessaryFamiliarity with key BGE systems, including Salesforce and CMS tools, to ensure seamless integration of content and workflows.Strong analytical skills, using data to assess content performance and make improvements that enhance user experience and conversion ratesWhat we’re looking forProven expertise in SEO strategy, technical SEO, and content management, with a focus on driving organic growth and improving search visibilityStrong knowledge of SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush etc) and content management systems, alongside strong analytical skills to assess content performance and drive continuous improvementsExperience collaborating with development teams to ensure technical SEO requirements are metExcellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple SEO and content projects simultaneouslyProven ability to lead cross-functional teams in delivering digital content strategies that meet business objectives, as well as commercial targets, ensuring alignment with broader marketing and business goalsPrevious experience in a similar role & third-level degree in Business, Digital Marketing, CX, UX or a related discipline, or equivalent work experienceWhy should you apply?We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place.
