Job Description:About your roleWe are looking for an experienced Director of Global EHS to lead Orion’s global EHS strategy. This strategic leadership role drives global EHS strategy creation, goal setting, performance and ensures that global EHS objectives align with Orion’s strategic goals. Additionally, the Director ensures Global EHS strategy execution and compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations worldwide. The Director manages a matrix team of EHS professionals in Orion worldwide, fostering a collaborative environment with all stakeholders e.g. Sustainability, HR, Occupational Health Care.Location: Preferably Finland, other locations possibleYour key responsibilities

  • Define and lead the global EHS strategy, ensuring integration with Orion’s overall business objectives and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure effective EHS strategy execution across the organization together with the relevant stakeholders to foster cross-functional co-operation.
  • Oversee a matrix team of environmental and safety experts, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed on evolving global sustainability and EHS legislation and ensure best practices across all regions.
  • Lead strategic compliance planning and ensure accurate, timely global EHS reporting, aligning with regulatory requirements and assessing the impact on Orion’s operations.
  • Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and industry groups.

  • Master’s degree preferably in EHS related discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in global EHS roles, including strategic oversight across multiple continents, regulatory environments, and functional areas – ideally within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
  • Recognized authority on international EHS regulations, risk management frameworks, and sustainability-linked compliance standards.
  • Track record of executive-level leadership in complex matrix organizations and demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing global matrix teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to translate EHS insights into business-relevant outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships and drive collaborative teamwork.

We are also responsible for the industrialization of new products and product life cycle management.In Global Operations we have approximately 1,600 professionals working in Production, our external supplier network (Externally Sourced Operations) and Fermion Oy (API manufacturing and marketing).
