The department is managing HR for our staff in Geneva and all around the world. As the Director of Human Resources, you will play a pivotal role in shaping this mission and driving our organizational success.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
- Strategic Workforce Planning & Talent Acquisition: Defining future workforce needs and implementing effective strategies to attract onboard and manage talent.
- Total Rewards & Wellbeing: Designing and overseeing compensation, benefits, and wellbeing programs that engage and motivate our diverse workforce.
- Talent Development & Performance Enablement: Cultivating a culture of continuous learning, implementing performance management frameworks, and fostering career growth.
- Employee Relations & Engagement: Building strong relationships with staff, fostering trust and open communication, and proactively addressing employee relations matters, including collaboration with staff delegation and social partners.
- HR Policy & Compliance: Developing and implementing HR policies that align with legal requirements and best practices, ensuring a fair and equitable workplace.
- Organizational Development & Change Management: Providing counsel on organizational design, leading change initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement particularly in an age of rapid technological advance and AI.
- HR Operations & Team Leadership: Leading and motivating a management team of 6 HR experts, ensuring efficient HR service delivery and fostering a high-performing team environment.
- Working With Our Member Organisations: Showing an ability to collaborate with HR executives around Europe on behalf of the EBU and to help foster best practice amongst the membership.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCESTo excel in this impactful role, you will bring a blend of strategic thinking, deep HR expertise, and exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills:
- Extensive HR Leadership: A proven track record of 10-15 years in a senior HR role with managerial experience in multiple functions. You demonstrate a deep understanding of global HR best practices. Knowledge or experience of a media environment is an advantage but not a requirement.
- Strategic Acumen: The ability to serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the Director General on organizational matters, contributing to high-level discussions and translating business needs into effective HR strategies. You demonstrate understanding of business priorities and you have the demonstrated ability to influence those around you.
- Change Management Expertise: Experience driving effective change management, including organizational and cultural transformation, with clear and engaging communication and an ability to bring staff and management with you. You are comfortable with complex and sometimes ambiguous situations and can lead through instability.
- Interpersonal Excellence: Exceptional empathy, authenticity, and collaboration skills, enabling you to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders at all levels, and foster a positive and inclusive work environment. You possess advanced interpersonal skills and significant emotional intelligence. A high level of personal and professional integrity is key.
- Legal & Operational Foundation: Swiss legal, compensation, and benefits literacy to ensure compliance and integrity. Strong process, project, and team management skills in a multicultural context.
- Diversity & Inclusion: Savvy in meeting the needs and expectations of a diverse workforce and promoting inclusion and equity.
LANGUAGE – Bilingual proficiency in English and French is essential, with additional European languages being a valuable asset.EDUCATION – A Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Law, coupled with Swiss legal/HR certification, provides a strong foundation.ONCE ON BOARD YOU WILLBe part of an outstanding diverse and inclusive multicultural and international team.
