Job description
The ideal candidate has a strong background in digital transformation, product development, and team leadership. They will drive digital strategy, ensure alignment with business goals, and implement joint IEC/ISO governance.Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Build and lead a high-performing team for digital services and operations.
- Collaborate across IEC/ISO teams and external partners.
- Ensure integration with existing IT platforms in coordination with both IT Directors.
- Promote a culture of agility and accountability.
Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Operate within established frameworks and standards.
- Balance priorities between both organizations.
- Serve as secretary to the joint IEC/ISO governance committee.
Strategic Direction
- Lead the digital roadmap in consultation with stakeholders.
- Align initiatives with business and technology needs.
- Encourage innovation and ongoing improvement.
Communications
- Develop internal and external communication strategies.
- Lead stakeholder events across both organizations.
Reports into the Secretary GeneralsGeneva based
- 10+ years in a leadership role for digital product development.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-organizational initiatives and navigate in established governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in a complex, dynamic, and international environment.
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Understanding of, and experience with, governance, compliance, and regulatory processes.
- Passion for driving innovation and digital transformation.
- Ability to understand needs of diverse stakeholders and to translate complex ideas into clear messages.
- Knowledge of digital infrastructure design and software architecture.
- Experience designing, architecting, prioritizing, implementing and operating digital solutions which create strong, positive business impact.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Conflict resolution skills, resilience under pressure

- Fluent in English, french a plus
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) are two of the world’s foremost independent, non-governmental international organizations dedicated to the development and publication of international standards. Together, they represent a vast global network of expertise and cooperation, drawing on the collective knowledge and participation of over 170 national committees and national standards bodies from around the world. IEC and ISO have been working jointly on the development of digital standards through their SMART initiative, aiming to make standards more usable, accessible, and machine-readable. The initial R&D collaboration established the foundation for a more modern and digital-first approach to standardization. From this shared vision, the idea emerged to create a common Standards Delivery Unit (SDU) to better serve their core audiences.IEC/ISO are seeking a leader to head their first joint operational unit. Reporting to the Secretaries-General of both organizations, the role involves managing a skilled team delivering advanced digital products, services, and infrastructure.
