The leading infrastructure recruitment specialist are looking for an Electrical and Automation Deputy Design Manager to join a global leader in construction sector for one of Norway’s technical infrastructure projects involving roads, tunnels, bridges, drill and blast works.This is a great opportunity to work for a significant construction company, working alongside some of the most experienced specialists in the industry to continue developing and further you career.Job Role / Responsibilities

  • Ensure the development of design products in accordance with design and construction schedule
  • Overseeing the design process using technical expertise. Review and control the conformance of the design products to quality standards and safety concepts.
  • Discuss any risk factors, conflicts of interest and opportunities for improvement with technical director CJV.
  • Conduct regular design meetings with the design team. Coordinate the design with Construction needs, means and schedule. Overview interdisciplinary coordination and interface aspects
  • Reviewing designs with health and safety in mind.
  • Ensure ongoing quality management, project management and document management in the design assignment.
  • Working with clients to ensure that their expectations are met.
  • Ensure that all the information the design teams need to carry out the detailed design in a good way is available.
  • Assure the compliance of the general safety rules on site
  • Follow up and control of the specific control risk measures for Health and Safety
  • Participate in the SJA
  • Report incidents RUH according to the safety manual and the contract requirements
  • Address grievance of the employees within the respective team
  • Deal with conflicts within the department or escalate to the next level in case of a potential conflict of interests
  • Participate in the prevention and follow up of sickness absence for the employees within the respective team

ProjectThe infrastructure project is based on the West Coast of Norway and consist of the construction of several tunnels, bridges and highways, the construction has just started and is estimated to last for at least 4 years.Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of construction techniques and methodologies
  • Project Management Methodologies
  • In-depth knowledge of Plants and Machines
  • In-depth knowledge of design principles, analysis and development
  • Leadership skills and experience in a managerial role
  • 10 years’ experience in construction sector
  • Technical Master Degree
  • Experience in Scandinavia
  • Norwegian language skills are preferred, though not essential
