Lieu : Herstal, BelgiumMISSIONDrones and Loitering Munitions (LM) have become a critical weapon on the battlefield. Their danger has increased even more with fiber-optic payloads that make them unjammable whereas kinetic weapons can hardly react fast enough to acquire and shot them. High Power Microwaves (HPM) Emitters that are able to burn the electronic of drone in a wide area is one of the best solutions to neutralize this new threat. As an ELM Engineer at Thales, you will study the different concepts and technologies of HPM generation. Working in autonomy, you will be responsible for the development, design and testing of different components of this weapon of the future. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team currently in building.RESPONSABILITY
Establish and evaluate the design and performances of HPM effectors
Study the different components (energy storage, high voltage pulsed generators, forming lines, tubes, antennas, …) of an HPM generator
Build the bridge between Operation Concepts (CONOPs) and the technology
Manage and organize your research
Ensure the management and monitoring of subcontracted tasks (internally and externally)
Conduct testing and evaluation of the components that you design
