Listed on the London Stock Exchange, Smiths employs approximately 16,000 colleagues in over 50 countries.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Engineer III – Regional Engineering Nordic. In this pivotal role, you will work within the Regional Engineering team, reporting to the Lead Engineer or Technical / Engineering Manager. You will take responsibility for day-to-day technical support to the country or region, escalating where support is needed. This includes product selection and specification, and troubleshooting, often liaising with customers with support from Sales and Aftermarket. You will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering processes and systems
  • Analyze technical data and prepare comprehensive reports to support decision-making processes
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in the Nordic engineering landscape
  • Ensure compliance with local and regional safety and environmental regulations in all engineering activities

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering certification, specific to Nordic countries if applicable
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices, with the ability to apply them to complex problems
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools
  • Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills
  • In-depth understanding of Nordic engineering standards, regulations, and industry trends
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, or Finnish) preferred
