Come and have a dialogue with us!No relocation assistance is offered for this position.Core ResponsibilitiesTake part in shaping the overall kids domain vision, product strategy and ensure the execution of tech strategy and business requirements (pOKR).Set the technical direction in collaboration with the teams and lead engineers within the subdomain and ensure its adoption in the engineer teams and with key partners.Accountable for the overall delivery for LEGO® Play app (7m+ download since Aug 2024) to meet the aligned timeline and engineering qualityAct as a playing coach, improve product teams’ efficiency and delivery by continuously improvement on architecture design, code quality, development processes and operational efficiencies.Drive cross team collaboration and alignments via clear team boundary, mature cross-team rituals and foster a culture of tech excellence and knowledge sharing.Recruit, optimize and continuously evolve subdomain set up and actively move towards building high-performing engineering cluster and adopting industry best practices​Participate in Kids and Ecosystem technology leadership team to foster an engineering culture with focus on efficiency, quality and innovation.Play your part in our team succeedingThe Kids and Ecosystem Technology (KET) department is responsible for delivering a broad set of applications incl. kids.lego.com, LEGO® Play app, LEGO® account and platforms cross consumer and shopper facing digital experiences. KET contributes to the LEGO Group’s long-term ambition towards building direct and long-lasting relationship (BDLR) with kids, adults and families.As director of engineering, you will lead and grow high-performing product teams who develop and operate the LEGO® Play app, drive technical excellence and partner multi-functionally with product, design, analytics, marketing, content & legal to deliver joyful, safe and high-quality solutions.Do you have what it takes?Extensive experience in software engineering and in engineering leadership roles.Demonstrable experience in mobile app development and general engineering practices e.g. React native, app platform, 3D, gaming, testing & observability, mobile architecture etc.Experience in orchestrating multiple product teams towards delivery.Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration, and communication skills.Knowledge of GDPR/COPPA, platform (IOS/Android) guideline and compliance requirement for kids app is a plus.Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
