The Group’s vision is to be the aviation service provider of choice through excellence, experience, and expertise.PositionAs an Engineering Safety Officer you will work as part of the wider Safety team to support the provision and maintenance of a safe work environment and safe operations.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyses the Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) data and makes a synthesis of this information that can be used by various departments. Explain the data during Safety Actions Groups (SAG) and participate in deriving Safety Actions; Coordinate and follow-up meetings with the Technical Department to progress in the trouble shooting of defects
  • Assists and supports the CAMO/Part 145 Safety Manager in the investigation of safety related incidents;
  • Ensures that management of occurrence reporting supports the company’s Safety Management System;
  • Participates in monthly Safety Action Group meetings and the ASRB as required.
  • Trains users in the IT Safety tools
  • Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment, and management of change as required
  • Provide periodic reports on safety performance
  • Promotes the safety culture at ASL
  • Supports the Organisational Safety Manager, CAMO/Part 145 Safety Manager and other safety team members as appropriate
  • Maintain competence on the basis of continued education and training in their area of responsibility. The company will facilitate this process

RequirementsYour Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master in a technical discipline or equivalent/Part 66 licence
  • Knowledge of human factors, human performance and limitations
  • Training in hazard identification and risk assessments
  • Training Safety Management Systems

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in Aviation Engineering, either in CAMO or P-145 environments.
  • Technical knowledge of the current fleet of ASL Airlines Ireland
  • Good analytical skills
  • Knowledge and experience of Safety Management Systems, Flight Data Monitoring Systems and Fatigue Risk Management, Crisis Management
  • Personal computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent knowledge of English – written and spoken
  • Establish and maintain strong professional relationships, both internally and externally
