We are looking for an experienced Environmental Specialist to join us on our journey to a Brighter Future.Position DescriptionThe Environmental Specialist will be a member of the Planning & Environmental (P&E) Group within the Engineering & Major Projects (EMP) business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering services and solutions related to environmental site investigations, site remediation, pollution control and waste management.Key Responsibilities
Knowledge Skills and ExperienceEssential
– Knowledge of and successful delivery of projects in accordance with the following: EPA Guidance on Contaminated Land and Groundwater at EPA licenced sites, 2013 & Environment Agency CLR 11 and Land Contamination and Risk Management (LCRM) 2019; Guidance on the classification and assessment of waste (1st edition v1.1, WM3) & BS 10175:2011 + A2:2017 Investigation of potentially contaminated sites.– Knowledge of and experience in soil and waste management, waste classification, hydrogeological assessment, due diligence, Licensing and Permitting, Generic Quantitative Risk Assessments (GQRA’s), Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments (DQRA’s) and Remedial Options Appraisals.

LocationThis role is based in EMP Dublin office but travel to project locations as required, is a key requirement of the role.ESB is committed to offering flexibility in ways of working and we call that Smart Working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible and remote ways of working.The successful candidate may combine working from home within the Republic of Ireland, with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which is agreed with the manager and may change as we learn about hybrid working. Site visits is also a feature of this role which will require a certain amount of travel within Ireland.Reporting toEnvironmental Engineering Senior Team Leader within the Planning & Environmental Group of Civil, Environmental & Renewable Engineering.Why Work with Us?
