We are looking for experienced Sperry engineers for the new Field Service Specialist role. You will be a part of a dynamic and flexible work group working closely with the customer either at the rigsite or at Halliburton’s onshore center.This position is to align with the new Sperry platoon structure and strategic goal of becoming the #1 service provider in autonomous drilling.

If you can identify with our values: Safety, Trust, Collaboration, Integrity and Respect you can be the one we are looking for.Job description:You will be responsible to provide the on-site supervision of Measurement-While Drilling (MWD)/Logging-While Drilling (LWD) and Directional Drilling (DD) processes:

  • Tool preparations, data acquisition, and delivery of the drilling services to the customer.
  • Ensures that the data is presented to the customer accurately and meets the highest possible service quality standard.
  • Assist in providing the customer with expected and needed data and identifying possible problems to the customer.
  • Assist in providing technical consultation to the customer.
  • Properly tests all tools and equipment before, during, and after each job.
  • Understand the principles of Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) selection and aspects of DD performance.
  • Ensures that BHA’s are assembled as planned including correct make-up torque, doping, and handling.
  • Assists in accurately completing all required forms, databases and reports.
  • Understands the customer requirements regarding directional survey procedures.
  • Assists in interfacing with the onshore center to ensure BHA compatibility, planned operating parameters are within specification, and correct tool face references are applied.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Min. 2 years experience as Sperry Engineer (MWD/DD)
  • Preferably Master (MSc) or Bachelor degree (BSc) in Petroleum Engineering, Science, Technology, Engineering.
  • Offshore safety and health certificate
  • Fluency in English and preferably a Scandinavian language

Personal qualitiesCandidates that are team oriented and possess good analytical and communication skills will be preferred. Candidates also need to be prepared to work with practical mechanical and electrical tasks in the field. You need to work in a structured manner and the position requires that you champion the Company’s HSE procedures.In line with future development in the industry around remote delivery models, candidates based in Stavanger area or with commitment to relocate are preferred.
