Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst with advanced expertise in Power BI to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end analytics process, from extracting data from various source systems to building insightful, user-friendly visualizations in Power BI. You will play a key role in transforming data into valuable insights that drive business decisions. Responsibilities:Data Extraction & Integration
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources, including relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL), cloud-based systems (Azure, AWS), APIs, flat files, and ERP systems (SAP HANA).
- Create and manage data models, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Perform data cleansing, validation, and aggregation to prepare it for analysis.
Data Modelling
- Detailed understanding and experience of dimensional modelling.
- Design and implementation of Fact tables and associated measures, Dimensions (e.g. conformed, role playing) and hierarchies.
- Design and implementation of semantic model load patterns.
Power BI Development
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for stakeholders across various departments.
- Utilize Power BI capabilities such as Power Query, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), and Power BI Service.
- Implement advanced features such as drill-through reports, custom measures, calculated columns, and row-level security.
- Continuously optimize Power BI reports for performance, focusing on query efficiency and user experience.
Data Visualization & Reporting
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand reporting and analysis requirements.
- Translate business needs into intuitive, interactive visualizations and self-service reporting tools.
- Leverage best practices for data visualization, storytelling, and user experience to communicate insights effectively.
Data Governance & Quality
- Establish and adhere to data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Document processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency across all Power BI solutions.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with IT, data engineers, business analysts, and other departments to ensure data availability and usability.
- Train and support end-users to maximize the value they derive from Power BI reports and tools.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Advanced degree preferred but not required.
Technical Skills
- Power BI: Advanced skills in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service.
- ETL Tools: Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources.
- Database Management: Strong SQL skills, experience with relational databases and querying large datasets.
- Other BI Tools: Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.
- Scripting: Experience in R or Python for data manipulation is an advantage but not essential.
- Data Warehousing: Experience in working with data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently or in a collaborative team environment.
Experience Required
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, with a strong focus on Power BI.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing end-to-end BI solutions.
- Experience working with large datasets and handling complex data transformation processes.
