Job descriptionBeing part of HSBC in Switzerland, you’ll help evolve and grow our business.The Financial Crime Operations Officer will review and investigate systematic Financial Crime (Money-Laundering/Sanctions/Adverse information) alerts generated from the Watch List Management system & Wolf to identify if matches occurring are valid Financial Crime risks (FCC) risks. The jobholder will perform research taking into account various FCC risk factors and indicators to identify if the alert/case needs to be escalated.Are you interested ? • To execute due judgment in considering and assessing negative information pertaining to any party relating to the investigation or the client and the potential impact on PBRS, should the account be retained with PBRS. Being mindful of not only potential regulatory breaches, but also damage to the reputation of the Bank

In this role you will:Name Screening

• Investigate alerts generated from OWS (Name Screening Tool) by reviewing KYC and client documentation stored in the scanning database and other systems

• Contact the Relationship Manager (RM), as required, for additional information/documentation and corroborate received information provided by the RM

• Ensure alerts are closed with adequate and documented explanations within planned schedule

• Raise any potential PEP (Politically Exposed Person), Sanctions or negative fact hit/adverse information case not yet identified as per procedure

• Undertake prompt closure of eligible alerts not deemed to prosses any FCC risk

• Ensure that investigations undertaken adhere to the HSBC’s Global Standards, Policies and Procedures

• Process requests from other departments as required

• To assist the Head of FC Operations on special projects

Transaction Screening

• Daily ongoing Alert Investigation 1st Level and 2nd Level of payment screening treatment using Stelink and SwiftAlliance systems

• Closure of payment screening false match alerts within Firco Continuity, including closure explanation “How & Why” comments. Resolution of potential match to be clearly documented

• Dispatch of payment screening true match and undetermined match alerts to FCC within Firco Continuity (pending status) and by email within 15 minutes after being generated

• Propose to Compliance new “Good Guys” rules to be added using request form

• Undertake prompt closure of eligible alerts not deemed to prosses any FCC risk

• Ensure that investigations undertaken adhere to the HSBC’s Global Standards, Policies and Procedures

• Process requests from other departments as required

• To assist the Head of FC Operations on special projects

RequirementsDegree level – Preferably in Law, Banking or Business AdministrationAwareness of Swiss rules and guidelines, as well as applicable foreign lawsUnderstanding of Private Banking activityAnalytical, well-informed and creative approach to problem-solving ability to work alone and to the highest level of accuracy and accountabilityComputer and IT systems literate, good communication and writing skillsAbility to work under stress and time pressureSelf-avowal, good communication skills and interaction with the Front OfficeFluent in English (both written and spoken), German/French/ Hebrew and every additional language is a plus * First practical experience in Compliance, Banking, Audit or other Regulatory or Risk Functions related work

• Able to work autonomously as well as in a team

• Ability to work under stress and take responsibilities
