If so, then this opportunity with my award winning client could be just for you!As Fleet & Garage Manager you will be responsible for a team of 5 and will have full respoinsibility for a new garage that the the company is currently in the process of building. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fleet maintenance and compliance and will have a passion for the industry.Responsibilities:
Lead vehicle specification and maintenance for the company, ensuring successful commercial, health and safety, and operational outcomes.
Oversee service and maintenance, managing contractors and mechanics to provide a high-quality, budget-compliant service for the fleet, including RCVs, RELs, trucks, vans, and waste collection vehicles.
Ensure maximum vehicle availability by monitoring and implementing improvements.
Review financial and operational performance, managing assets and staff to ensure profitability and high customer service standards. Ensure the garage is well-equipped for fault diagnostics and defect rectification.
Effectively utilize and monitor the fleet management system for accurate data entry and compliance. Address any overdue maintenance events and close out reported issues.
Ensure the garage is adequately staffed, and mechanics and contractors are trained and properly insured.
Implement a system for managing spare parts inventory, ensuring stock is monitored and maintained.
Maintain high housekeeping standards in the workshop.
Ensure all maintenance activities are risk-assessed and comply with safety protocols, including isolating and tagging moving parts during maintenance.
Manage business KPIs, set budgets, and ensure assets are optimized for maximum return and service delivery to the Household and Commercial units.
Conduct vehicle spot checks to ensure legal compliance, promptly addressing any issues with relevant supervisors or managers.
Uphold health, safety, and compliance standards within the garage, ensuring all vehicles meet legislative requirements.
Requirements:
Relevant technical qualification.
Experience managing a service organization fleet or garage.
Knowledge of environmental and Health & Safety legislation.
Familiarity with workshop procedures, CVRT, Loler, and the 13-week inspection regime.
Experience managing in a labor-intensive, multi-shift environment.
