Job Description for the Position : 1. Any new device/hardware installation till able to take control. 2. The initial IP configuration of the device/module via console connection will be done by H&F engineer based on instructions given by SME. 3. Initiate offline test based on instruction given by SME (if system is up but not reachable to remotely). 4. In case, iLO of any server is not working, then H&F should help us in restarting the server/bringing it up till the time we get the iLO fixed. 5. CD/DVD insertion and removal. 6. In case motherboard of any server is replaced, then initial iLO configuration has to be done by H&F based on instruction given by SME. 7. To check the server status, if not reachable through RDP or iLO. If required need to re-patch the network connectivity. 8. Escorting break-fix partner/Vendor up to device, who comes for break-fix call. 9. If any abnormal lights are found (LED Status check), inform the track on same time or e-mail or call the duty desk. 10. Monthly light checks 11. Tape insertion & ejection as per agreed days & time and confirm Backup team after completion. 12. Tape Labelling to be done as per instructions by SME. 13. Maintaining Tape Vaulting records. 14. Removal of Stuck tapes from the tape drives. 15. Engineer will be required for replacement/addition of module/device, the initial configuration of the device/module via console connection on Network and Wifi devices in coordination with offshore team. 16. Physical check of Cables connecting Storage, Servers and Switches based on instruction given by SME (if required). 17. Placing hot-swappable hard disk/Fan/Power Supply Module from Storage. 18. Assist in house keeping data centre. 19. Loading/Unloading of back up media. 20. Engineer should carry a toolkit, console cable, straight cable& cross cable with a compatible laptop with a COM port (with HyperTerminal software) while attending network/Wifi issues. 21. Engineer should not disturb the existing wiring (taking out the connectors) connection while replacing/troubleshooting the network devices in data centre. 22. Engineer should carry an antistatic wrist band while changing the modules in modular network devices. 23. Identification of alarm signals on the device; H&F Engineer should be able to understand the Rack layout and DC Layout for quickidentification of device location. 24. Replacing hot-swappable devices / modules in Storage/Switch/Servers, in case of device under OEM support. 25. Physical start of Storage / Switch in case Remote Login Module not present. 26. Providing logs of Storage, Switches or Tape Library in case Remote Login Module not present. 27. Replace faulty power/network/storage cable. 28. MEDIA MANAGEMENT (Mainframe/Open Tech – collection of daily/Adhoc usage tapes & preparation for CISCO offsite, cleaning of tape drive, retrieval of tapes from CISCO for restoration) 29. Spooling of reports/files to tape 30. Ready to provide 24*7 support on rotation basis. 31. Should be able to assist in ILO setup troubleshooting via hand and feet. 32. Help and assist on network cabling issues, if any required 33. Support the team with minimal direction by identifying jack panels, switches, Client hardware environment, Hardware logs (Client SIM), rack and stack activities etc. 34. Vendor Coordination for onsite activities and Offshore team coordination. 35. Any power-off, power-on activities that needs to be performed on the components at various situations. 36. Vaulting Management 37. Replace hard drives in Array (physical replacement only) on best effort basis 38. Create SOPs/define FSO role in break/fix for servers and networks 39. Create SOPs/define FSO role in IMAC for servers 40. Create SOPs/define FSO role in IMAC for networks 41. Facilitate break/fix and IMAC roles simultaneously for network and servers 42. Provide 2nd and 3rd level support as well as troubleshoot complex network/server issues and consult/implement solutions 43. Participate and plan Tuesday night global maintenance windows 44. Assist in network design and workarounds with and Statoil 45. Provide physical infrastructure layouts/information to 46. Attend weekly meetings to raise issues and possible solutions to problems 47. Maintain DRM Notes server and network databases. 48. Manage FSO related logistics for parts or equipment moving, equipment delivery and receiving. 49. Creating training material and provid training for new FSO members 50. Travel to remote locations (within or outside Norway) to assist in knowledge transfer / participate in IMAC activities 51. Participate in the Continual Service Improvement process, suggesting SOPs for the offshore team interface with the H&F team 52. Break/Fix for wireless access points. 53. Installation, break-fix and troubleshoot for SAP servers (newly acquired scope by ). No official handover 54. Installation, break-fix and troubleshoot for network equipment of SAP devices. No official handover 55. Installation and troubleshooting of SAN storage connectivity. No official handover56. Installation and decommission of EMC storage equipment. No official handover 57. Maintain Cold spare of Server and Network equipment for Break & Fix 58. Decommissioning of IT equipment and disposal as per Statoil standard practices 59. Installation of Racks and Rack PDUs 60. Provide vendor escorts 61. Manage Data centre patch panels5 Skills, Experience and Qualification Required for the Position : 1. Preferably 2 (3-4+) year experience, with at least 1 year on Infrastructure Management Services. 2. Experience in IT services in Oil companies is preferred. 3. Ideal candidate would be expected to have a good understanding of IT Infrastructure. 4. Candidate should be well versed in English and the local language. 5. Candidates who can demonstrate local industry knowledge preferably Oil exploration domain and prior experience in a similar role will be preferred 6. Should have very strong written and oral communication skills, and presentation skills 7. Ability to work independently with little day to day support – self starters 8. Flexibility with respect to time – client deliverables need to be met with a Can do attitude 9. A significant travel is expected on the job – hence should be willing to work in such a role. Must be willing to work offsite 10. Location of work will be the client offices in the respective geography / location. Flexibility in relocation based on job requirements will be desired. 11. Education – Qualification – Diploma / Graduate Degree 12. Excellent problem solving / analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools 13. Exposure to Monitoring tools like Client Service Centre, Remedy, Service Now, etc. 14. Exposure to Lotus Notes, MS Office/Outlook is desired 15. Basic understanding about Security devices [like Firewalls, IPS, SIEM Solution, Proxy solution, Anti-Virus solution, Disc Encryption etc. 16. Basic understanding about checkpoint firewalls/IDS/IPS and its operation 17. Basic understanding about Arc Sight, loggers and proxy solution 18. Good understanding on Clustering Environments and setup 19. Client Certified: HP2-T16, HP2-T17, HP2-T19 20. Dell Certified: Dell Power edge and VRTX 21. Cisco certified/knowledgeable: Knowledge of large networked environments with logical and physical understandings 22. Basic understanding of Storage systems 23. ITIL service delivery knowledge 24. Ability to build servers and network devices to order including configuration, installation and provide uplink cabling within designed solutions provided by Statoil via25. Data analysis and technical documentation skills. 26. Database experience (SAP, Notes) 27. Able to critically evaluate incomplete, inaccurate or inadequate instructions that could result in downtime, or degradation of service
