At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.Join EY and help to build a better working world.About the jobAt the EY’s digital product organization, you will be building tax automation tools and AI-integrated platforms for increased efficiency, quality, and joy in tax and compliance workflows.We help thousands of clients with services such as producing correct and compliant tax filings, and consulting multinational companies on how to navigate the international tax landscape.To do those jobs with the highest degree of quality and efficiency, robust fullstack applications and great integrated software play key roles.We operate across the Nordics (DK, FI, SE, NO) with a small, flat, and informal organization of ~40 engineers, designers, researchers, and PMs. In a distributed setup across all countries where we work from home and offices depending on preferences and needs.Tax? Yes, tax filings and tax law are the domains we design and build for, so having an interest in those areas would be good. Actual experience and domain knowledge are of course a plus, but certainly not a requirement. It’s a pretty small Venn diagram of senior fullstack engineers who also have professional tax experience.Above all, we value working with good all-round people. People who are both highly specialized but are capable of collaborating across disciplines.About YouAs a fullstack engineer, you will be entrusted with building comprehensive tax automation tools and AI-integrated platforms across several business-critical products, working with both frontend and backend technologies.As a master of your craft, you will write beautiful and performant React/TypeScript applications and robust Node.js services. Code that is well-tested, documented, optimized for speed, and easy to maintain across the full technology stack.You have honed those skills over the years by working on complex fullstack applications in cross-functional product teams, where you have shown yourself as a wonderful collaborator who can seamlessly bridge frontend user experiences with backend system design.You have likely also done many code reviews across the stack and taken initiative to question architectural decisions made by people more senior in the company than yourself. And challenged product decisions that didn’t make sense from a technical feasibility perspective.If that sounds like you, we should talk. • Building end-to-end tax automation features from React frontends to Node.js backends
• Developing AI-integrated platforms with seamless user experiences and robust data processing
• Close collaboration with designers, product managers, ML engineers, and fellow developers
• Spending time, occasionally, with users and user researchers to understand tax workflows in detail
• Working across a range of products and problem spaces in the fullstack domain
• Freedom to work remotely or in our Copenhagen or Stockholm office

Skills And Attributes for SuccessWe are looking for a skilled fullstack engineer and a great colleague. These are the most important things that should characterise you.To qualify for the role, you should have:Frontend Expertise (Required):

• React/TypeScript: 3+ years with modern hooks, state management, and performance optimization
• Modern Tooling: Experience with build tools (Vite/webpack), testing frameworks (Cypress/Jest), and Kubernetes deployments
• Complex UI Development: Building multi-step workflows, sophisticated form validation, and responsive interfaces

Backend Proficiency (Required):

• Node.js: 3+ years with Express, async programming, and RESTful API development
• MongoDB: Strong experience with document design, aggregation pipelines, and performance optimization
• Python Integration: Experience with FastAPI, report generation, and GenAI pipeline integration
• System Integration: Third-party API integration, microservices patterns, and MCP implementations

Experience Level Requirements:For Mid-Level Candidates (3-5 years):

• 3+ years fullstack development experience with shipped major features
• Solid understanding of full development lifecycle from design to deployment
• Proven cross-functional team collaboration experience

For Senior Candidates (5+ years):

• 5+ years with increasing technical responsibility
• Experience mentoring developers and making technical architectural decisions
• System design knowledge and scalability considerations
• Project leadership capabilities and scope definition skills

Additional Requirements:

• Easy access to Copenhagen, Helsinki, or Stockholm. You can work remotely most of the time, but we meet up in person weekly
• Really good English speaking and writing skills. That’s our work language
• An interest in tax law and financial technology applications
