Managing and leading a large planning team who specialise in P6.The role will require leading on a commission as well as leading the planning team across all our markets and geographical hubs.Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey, they are:Safety first – Going home safe and well:You will be a leading advocate of Mace’s value of safety first, and be accountable for leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and project compliance standards.You will possess advanced technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.You will champion a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people you manage.Client focus – Deliver on our promise:You will lead the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.You will hold full accountability for the long-term success of planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs, and the overall contribution to the broader company goals.You will be accountable for ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.Leadership of the overall delivery of strategy, objectives & all projects for the planning portfolio, in line with overall mace strategy and priorities. facilitates the growth of the planning centre of excellence (CoE) increasing capabilities, expertise & capacity.Ownership of the planning portfolio planning & budgeting, business operational resource requirements, ensures compliance with Mace Group reporting cycles and establishing KPIs & OKDs (objectives & key deliverables), strategic workforce plan, service excellence plan as agreed with engine COO & CEO & sector plans.Accountable for delivery of annual financial and operating targets for the planning portfolio (including KPIs, OKDs & business outcomes), leads effective cost management, ensuring budgets are met and utilises data & analysis to drive continuous business improvements.Oversees & promotes effective relationships externally with all clients, suppliers, partners & internally across the CoE community & the wider business.Utilises comprehensive expertise in planning domain to provide expertise counsel & support (including to engine leadership) on projects, monitors & provides oversight for the most complex projects & portfolios.Oversees the definition & implementation of the service excellence plan creating real distinctive value, ensuring it sets out the strategy for aligning, consolidating, innovating & delivering on the planning service offer to ensure a consistent client experience on all projects.Champions innovation & provides thought leadership across the planning portfolio, business planning & service delivery advocating new ideas, ways of working & efficiencies.Leads the development of service propositions, specific tools & deployment models within the areas of responsibility & across other functional areas.Collaborates & partners with others across the business & identifies and promotes cross selling opportunities within the wider Mace business, driving & promoting business development, including building & developing productive relationships across the business & with clients.Accountable for ensuring required leadership and capability is implemented to deliver the business ambition with robust resource planning and a talent pipeline matching business demand, to drive the Mace purpose, priorities and 2026 strategy.Member of business senior leadership team, inputs into & influences planning portfolio in line with overall engine business strategy, direction & objectives.Demonstrates ‘good organisation citizenship’ by working in an enterprise-wide way. Champions & drives the strategic implementation of enterprise-wide (& engine/business unit) strategic priorities, initiatives & transformational change, providing enterprise-wide leadership.Leads planning portfolio by example, setting & working by high standards, leads, guides & provides direction to business unit, ensures a high performing portfolio & teams that meet & exceed KPIsRepresents Mace & planning portfolio, manages & influences key C-suite & senior external relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, supply chain and relevant government/regulatory bodies.Provides executive leadership and direction across the planning portfolio & across the business, supporting and mentoring senior leaders including succession planning, onboarding, training and diversity planning.Promotes & champions the highest standards and adherence to health, safety & wellbeing across portfolio.Provides thought leadership, industry expertise & expert counsel across the planning portfolio to senior leadership teams.Integrity – Always do the right thing:You will have full budgetary oversight and ensure operations are fiscally and ethically viable and meet organisational and legislative compliance obligations.
