Main Purpose: Trafigura is actively recruiting an experienced and visionary Head of Treasury Technology. We are looking for a proactive and delivery-focused candidate to manage and implement key technology and data initiatives across Group Treasury functions.This role is embedded within the business and acts as the bridge between Treasury needs and technical delivery, ensuring that solutions not only meet functional requirements but also drive adoption and measurable business outcomes. You will lead project execution, shape business requirements, coordinate stakeholders, and play a critical role in managing change — ensuring the Treasury team embraces and benefits from the digital tools and processes being introduced.This role is pivotal in ensuring that Group Treasury not only deploy the right tools and systems — but also realise their full value. With both delivery and change ownership, you will help unlock efficiency, insight, and agility in how financial resources are managed at scale.Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:Strategic LeadershipDevelop and execute a comprehensive global technology strategy for Treasury and Payments operations aligned with organisational objectivesDrive digital initiatives to enhance treasury and payment capabilities, efficiency, and controlEstablish and maintain strategic partnerships with key technology partnersProvide thought leadership on emerging technologies and industry trends affecting treasuryBuild, develop, and lead high-performing technology teams across treasury and payments functionsFoster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellenceDevelop talent through mentoring, training, and career progression opportunitiesManage resource allocation and budgeting for technology initiativesTreasury Technology InfrastructureLead the design and implementation of treasury management systems and related technologiesOversee cash management technology solutions, including forecasting tools, liquidity management platforms, and banking connectivityEnsure seamless integration between treasury systems and enterprise financial platformsOversee the architecture and infrastructure supporting treasury and payment systemsDrive innovation in financial technology, including evaluation and implementation of emerging solutions (APIs, blockchain, AI/ML)Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for new treasury and payment technologiesDevelop centers of excellence for specialised treasury technology domainsGlobal Payments LeadershipLead dedicated global payments teams with responsibility for end-to-end payments operationsDevelop and implement a strategic roadmap to industrialise payment processes across all areasStandardise and optimise payment workflows, approval mechanisms, and controlsDrive the adoption of payment automation, reducing manual interventions and operational riskEstablish and monitor KPIs for payment operations efficiency, accuracy, and timelinessGovernance & ComplianceEstablish robust governance frameworks for treasury and payment systemsEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements across all jurisdictionsImplement and maintain strong security protocols and controls for financial systemsOversee system access management, segregation of duties, and audit trailsLead regulatory reporting technology initiativesStakeholder ManagementPartner with Finance, IT, Operations, and business units to align treasury technology with broader organisational needsReport to executive leadership on technology strategy, initiatives, and performanceManage relationships with banking partners regarding technology integration and capabilitiesCollaborate with internal audit, risk management, and compliance teamsDevelop and lead change management plans to support transitions to new systems or processes.Engage users early and often through stakeholder analysis, communications, and feedback loops.Drive training strategy and delivery — ensuring Treasury teams are equipped with the skills and knowledge to adopt new tools confidently.Identify resistance or adoption risks and proactively address them with targeted interventions.Serve as a champion for continuous improvement, encouraging iterative feedback and refinement post-deployment.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred10+ years of progressive experience in treasury, payments, and financial technology rolesProven track record of leading large-scale technology transformations in treasury or paymentsExperience managing global teams and cross-functional projectsTechnical KnowledgeDeep understanding of treasury management systems, payment platforms, and banking technologiesStrong knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and risk management techniquesFamiliarity with enterprise architecture and system integration methodologiesUnderstanding of regulatory requirements affecting treasury and payment operations globallyExposure to cloud platforms, data integration, and modern Treasury tech landscape (e.g., APIs, ISO 20022).Leadership & SkillsStrategic vision and ability to translate business requirements into technology solutionsExceptional leadership skills with experience managing diverse, global teamsStrong project and program management capabilitiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsProven ability to drive change and innovation in complex organisationsKey Relationships and Department Overview:Reporting StructureReporting directly to Global Head of Group TreasuryEqual Opportunity Employer
