Job title:
Global Mobility Manager
Company
Wolt
Job description
Are you our new Global Mobility Manager who is able to tackle ambiguity analytically within our global mobility team while you enjoy an international environment as part of your daily work? Do you want to work with a versatile scope of global mobility topics with a specific focus on compliance and help us continue building the best global people practices? If so, then we’d love to talk.Role BackgroundAs part of our phenomenal growth, we’re now looking to strengthen and scale our people team to own specific compliance pieces in our global mobility team. To do so, we need a person who looks beyond traditional mobility in favor of something to support growth in a way that ensures we are doing the right thing. Be it traditional international assignments and permanent transfers, serving our business with cross-border commuters, frequent business trips, and expansion, or remote work abroad. While you work as part of our global mobility team, you should be comfortable in rolling up your sleeves to get things done around all corners of Wolt across all our 27+ locations, and with our key stakeholders in your area of expertise be those internal or external. What you’ll be doing
- Having end-to-end ownership of global mobility compliance, ensuring adherence to regulations across areas like mobile employee tax, payroll, immigration, and EU posting of workers. For example, you’ll be independently managing all aspects of mobile employee tax compliance, including tax policy process, vendor management, and ensuring accurate payroll and tax filings for cross-border employees, while you support our business to grow.
- While doing this you proactively diagnose, define, execute, and develop things in your respective remit for which you find the right balance between specific requirements, data, and common sense. As there is no one way of doing this, you can solve things creatively amid ambiguity.
- Work will be often done together with our vendors as well as the rest of the global mobility team, and key cross-functional teams tax, payroll, equity, finance, and legal teams where you work as a PM for your area of expertise while driving other stakeholders forward in their work. This means you will be communicating with a lot of stakeholder management while being able to independently drive impact for your work with the help of other cross-functional owners. Mentoring your team and cross-functional teams in your area of expertise is part of your daily work.
- While having the responsibility of determining, designing, and implementing preferred practices in use for immigration compliance, cross-border tax and payroll processes (both including equity), and reporting requirements, you focus on making sure we scale and move with speed from A to B to C and Z in situations where you don’t have too much time in your hands. In practice your key cross-functional stakeholders live in their respective organizations while you move people forward, connect the dots in ambiguity, ensure the right decisions are made, and ensure global mobility compliance is handled effectively. Thinking ahead is something you do daily while guiding other team members in their work.
- You are responsible for implementing our global mobility team’s yearly clock, monitoring and ensuring key compliance milestones are met on time, development activities for mobility compliance, and being the first point of contact to key business and internal stakeholders as well as external vendors in your areas of expertise. Regular audits and risk management will be owned by you in this role. As we don’t have everything in place when you join, you have a habit of rolling up your sleeves, getting to the bottom of what needs to be prioritized, and getting stuff done strategically.
- Defining and working on strategic compliance projects in supporting our business is your most critical area of ownership as well as different projects we work across Wolt and DoorDash.
- Having versatile scope within your area of expertise with a project type of approach. There may be things that come up so you are the Swiss army knife in taking up these challenges together with our global team.
- You find a balance between when to focus on the big picture and when to step in. You handle both with ease and are not afraid to get your hands dirty while keeping a broader goal and strategy in mind for compliance.
Our humble expectations
- We’re looking for an analytical, strategic individual who is excited to dive in and drive. Extensive experience in global mobility compliance, including expat payroll, immigration, tax, social security, and equity, with a proven ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them in a business context will take you far while you’ll learn how we work as we go. This means that a background in consulting, tax, legal and/or compliance with 6+ years is where we are aiming!
- Extremely strong stakeholder management skills topped with analytical skills including ability to figure out ambiguous data sets and make complex subject matter topics meaningful for any audience. This means that you are a natural problem solver but also extremely strong in communicating complicated things in a very simple manner for your team, vendors, business and senior leadership.
- This is a complex landscape and so, in this role you naturally use your judgment to ensure we are able to make the right decisions while setting criteria and goals for us to move forward. And thus, you have a natural ability to move even complex things forward in a structured way.
- You are a confident and kind communicator with excellent English skills.
- Previous experience from a multinational and/or fast-paced and/or complex stakeholder environment. Speed is part of our daily routine so we are looking for a person who thrives in such an environment.
- High attention to detail. We hope you have a straighforward way to ask questions, are a precise and thorough person with the ability to multitask and handle large amounts of information, tasks and details requiring your attention despite it getting hectic. Prioritization is definitely a skill to master where we all become better at it every day!
- You have a natural ability to figure things out as we take ownership beyond the obvious. This means you own tasks requiring your attention proactively with enthusiasm to constantly challenge yourself and us becoming better in what we do.
- Advanced skills in Google G Suite tools, Slack, Zoom and MS Office.
