In this position, you will conduct cutting research on current topics related to enterprise data management in close collaboration with Fortune 500 companies.You will be employed at the University of Lausanne in the Faculty of Business and Economics ( ) and work within the Competence Center Corporate Data Quality ( ), an industry-funded research consortium and expert community. As member of of the CC CDQ research team, you will play a key role in driving co-innovation activities in one of the following topics:

  • AI-readiness of enterprise data (data excellence for AI and analytics)
  • Data mesh, data fabric, knowledge graphs (enterprise data architecture)
  • Data and AI governance and regulations

Job informationExpected start date in position : negotiable from January to March 2025Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 yearsActivity rate : 100%Workplace : Campus of DorignyYour responsibilities

  • analyze the current state of research, the challenges in multinational firms as well as emerging technologies and trends
  • develop concepts, methods and tools that advance research and practice
  • present and discuss your research with practitioners in the CC CDQ workshops
  • contribute to the academic field of information systems by publishing articles in top outlets and presenting at international conferences

The candidate is expected to enrol in the Doctoral School in Information Systems at HEC Lausanne and write a PhD thesis on a topic related to the CC CDQ co-innovation activities.

  • 50% minimum dedicated to conducting research towards a PhD
  • 50% of your time will be dedicated in teaching and support to student projects and Master thesis

Your qualifications

  • Willingness to do research in the field of data, analytics and AI
  • demonstrated experience in a relevant field, such as data quality, data architecture, knowledge graphs, data and AI governance,
  • interest in understanding multinational firms, their data-related ambitions and challenges, business processes, information systems and platforms,
  • a Master’s degree in Information Systems (IS), Computer Science, Business Administration (with minor in IS or business analytics, or related fields
  • excellent analytical and communication skills
  • good writing skills and fluency in English; German and/or French are a plus
  • internships and/or professional experience in areas related to this position
