Reporting to the UK & EU Financial Controller, this is a key role responsible for ensuring there is consistent process across the Group’s corporate structure, working with Financial Accounting Teams to provide timely, accurate results, cashflow forecasting and meeting statutory and legal obligations. This role is also responsible for supporting the identification of accounting risks and monitoring of control mitigations across the Group and will play an active part in the Finance team, supporting the development of a professional, high performing function.Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for the operation of key financial policies, establishing and maintaining necessary controls and segregations within a financial control framework and be the key lead to ensure quality of financial data to the business.
  • Driving financial controls and processes enhancement, ensuring compliance with both Biocair and Parent compliance manuals.
  • Completion and monitoring of statutory reporting, taxation and legal compliance in UK and across the global corporate structure.
  • Effectively managing financial compliance and risk actions – statutory compliance, provision management, and master data and be a key contact for audit, insurance and other compliance responsibilities as they arise.
  • Issuing and maintaining Group Audit Timetable and deadlines, monitoring completion and delivery to plan.
  • Ensuring all audits are progressed in a timely and accurate manner to track all statutory submissions, clearly document key processes and drive continuous improvement in provision of detailed schedules.
  • Supporting the set-up for any new entities ensuring financial controls are maintained and ability to report on new entity in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring all taxation matters are understood and reported upon correctly, in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with legal team to ensure transfer pricing documentation is complete, accurate and maintained for all territories.

  • ICAEW/CIMA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • Change Management skills/qualifications are desirable.
  • Demonstratable experience of driving financial system enhancements and financial controls in a global business.
  • Proven group accounting experience.
  • Experience of UK GAAP and statutory audits with experience of IFRS reporting experience / understanding of differences to UK GAAP being advantageous.
  • Experience with using different currencies.
  • Experience of using Sage X3, Power BI and Cognos TM1.
  • Global statutory auditing, taxation and reporting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders at variety of levels.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, balance multiple priorities and be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • A self-improver; solicits feedback to manage own learning and development with a propensity to embrace technology and drive digital innovation.
  • Able to cover other areas when required.

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30am to 17:30pm and the role is offered as hybrid with 3 days per week being spent at our Cambridge office in Sawston (CB22 3EG)This is a UK based role and the right to live and work in the UK will need to be established during the recruitment process.
