Job description
- Lead the External Reporting Process: Manage and oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including filings, earnings releases, and investor presentations.
- Compliance and Regulatory Filings: Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (Swiss-GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various internal departments, such as Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Investor Relations, to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial disclosures.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the drafting, review, and finalization of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures.
- Technical Accounting Expertise: Provide expertise on complex accounting issues and reporting implications of corporate transactions (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings).
- Coordination with Auditors: Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors during the audit and review process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all audit-related deliverables.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting, while continuously identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Board and Senior Management Reporting: Prepare and present external reporting updates to the CFO, Board of Directors, and other senior leaders as needed.
- Stay Informed on Regulatory Changes: Monitor and interpret changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on financial reporting and compliance.

- Bachelor’s/ Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and a CPA is an advantage
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, with a focus on external reporting and filings
- Experience in a publicly traded company, experience in stock exchange listing (preferred)
- Certification and strong understanding of IFRS
- Experience with SIX Swiss Exchange requirements
- Strong asset if you have already participated in a listing process of a company
- Experience with regulatory 144A requirements for US investors
- Experience with Prospectus drafting (in cooperation with external experts/banks/counsels)
- Deep knowledge of financial reporting requirements, technical accounting principles and regulations
- Experience with financial reporting systems and tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, great PowerPoint presentation ability
- Strong project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lead and mentor a team, and work collaboratively across departments
- Professional fluency in English, German would be a plus

The Head of External Reporting oversees coordinating/preparing all external reporting and disclosures to comply with reporting requirements of the group in Switzerland. This role ensures compliance with all relevant accounting standards (IFRS), and other financial reporting requirements. Reporting to the VP – Chief Accounting Officer, this role also works closely with Finance Functions, Tax, Treasury, Business Finance and with other functions in particular with the General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, Investor Relation and External Communication, Internal Audit as well as the Chief Sustainability Officer.
