Job description
Head of Legal – UK | Retail Facing Investment PlatformOur client are seeking an experienced lawyer (6+PQE) to be responsible for their general compliance and commercial matters, as well as the implementation of FCA regulatory driven policies alongside the Company’s UK CEO and the Compliance team. ResponsibilitiesOffer counsel on wide-ranging legal issues and advise executives within the companyEnsure regulatory compliance for launch of consumer facing UK products and servicesWork alongside other departments across the company, including HR, Security, Compliance, Product, and EngineeringNegotiate, draft, and execute commercial agreements with technology partners and vendorsAdvise on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with commercial transactionsResearching and anticipating legal issues that could impact the company RequirementsQualified lawyer with high-level backgroundStrong experience advising and/or working for broker-dealers and understanding of UK related securities laws is requiredOutstanding FCA knowledge, specifically in a retail trading contextStrong interpersonal and presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organisationStrong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issuesAbility to work independently with little or no supervision but be a team player with a great attitude
