Health and Safety GraduateOptimize Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading manufacturing company in Ireland to recruit a Health and Safety graduate to join their team. This on-site role eliminates the need for travel, allowing you to enjoy a healthy work-life balance while advancing your career.The position offers a fantastic platform for professional growth, providing hands-on experience and mentorship in all aspects of health and safety within a thriving manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:

• Foster a proactive health and safety culture by promoting a strong hazard and near-miss reporting system. Maintain active communication with the Health & Safety Manager and various department representatives.
• Conduct regular workplace safety inspections, compile reports, and collaborate with key teams to ensure the implementation of corrective and preventative measures.
• Assist in coordinating health and safety training programs, ensuring that all mandatory training is delivered on time and reviewed regularly. Support the creation and distribution of safety-related communications, including toolbox talks and alerts, to drive continuous improvement.
• Support emergency preparedness planning across the site, focusing on key areas such as fire safety, chemical handling, and work-related vehicles.
• Help oversee the Contractor Management Program, including training contractor managers, maintaining contractor records, reviewing safety documentation, and conducting audits to ensure compliance with company and legal standards.
• Monitor and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas requiring improvement, aiming to prevent recurring incidents and unsafe behaviors.
• Stay updated on health and safety regulations and assist in maintaining compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the company’s health and safety system, identifying opportunities for improvement and leading system-related projects from planning to execution, including communication and training initiatives.
• Regularly review and update health and safety policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safety statements to align with operational needs.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• A relevant qualification in health and safety is required.
• Previous experience, ideally gained through a college work placement, is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey safety procedures and regulations.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong administrative and literacy skills for preparing reports and maintaining documentation.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
