Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading residential developer in the search for a Health & Safety Officer to join their team on a major construction project in Dublin. This permanent position offers a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in implementing and maintaining best-in-class safety standards on-site, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.Responsibilities for Health & Safety Officer:

• Work closely with the construction management team to uphold high safety standards.
• Implement and maintain the company’s Health & Safety Management System.
• Identify and address site-specific hazards, ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with the Health & Safety Manager.
• Ensure site documentation and statutory health & safety records are up to date.
• Enforce compliance with site safety regulations and legal requirements.
• Assist in the development of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Conduct site audits and inspections, addressing any non-conformances.
• Support accident and incident investigations, contributing to preventative measures.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to site teams.
• Identify and coordinate training needs for site personnel and subcontractors.

Requirements for Health & Safety Officer:

• 4+ years’ experience in a health & safety role within the construction industry.
• Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).
• IOSH membership (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and risk management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a structured safety system.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders and statutory bodies.
• Experience chairing and delivering health & safety meetings and presentations.
