HRH Children’s Services Manager | London, N5 1XB | Part Time / Full Time | 17.5 to 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 2:30 pm and 6:00 pm (part-time) or 10:00 am and 6:00 pm (full-time) | £17,490 – £34,980 per annumSince 1974, our client has been at the heart of the community, fostering inclusion, growth, and opportunity. They’re a non-profit organisation committed to creating a safe, welcoming space where people from all walks of life—particularly those from disadvantaged communities—can thrive.They are seeking an HRH Children’s Services Managerto manage the delivery of an integrated Out of School service within a school and work with early years children in our creche services. This service includes childcare, learning, activity clubs, and play opportunities for children aged 4 to 11 years, all provided within a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. You will be delivering a term-time offer of an after-school provision and holiday playscheme during the school holidays.In relation to your role in our Creche you will need to be prepared to work and lead on providing care for early years children, whilst parents are taking part in services onsite.Please note that this post is exempt from section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.   • Must have 5 years’ experience of working with children aged 5-11, in an educational setting
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in childcare
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing staff
  • Able to demonstrate levels of numeracy & literacy to GCSE (A-C)
  • Ability to support children with their homework
  • Demonstrates the ability to work within a structured framework
  • Must be able to work effectively with parents and other members of the community
  • Able to manage staff and resources
  • Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to Equal Opportunities
  • Good understanding of the health and safety requirements relevant to the role
  • Must be able to manage the day-to-day administration of the service, including financial information
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver a combined service that integrates educational, play, and leisure activities. Strong understanding of children’s learning, development, and how out-of-school services support educational achievement
  • Qualified First Aid certificate

What will your role look like

  • Maintain a safe, secure, clean, and stimulating environment for children, including ensuring the building is tidy and following first aid procedures and safeguarding protocol
  • Manage and develop an integrated educational service, where education, leisure, play and childcare activities are all wrapped into one service. The service should reflect the school’s priorities, which should be exciting, challenging, creative and responsive to the needs of the children and the Early Years Framework
  • Be the Deputy safeguarding lead
  • Will deputise for the Head of Children’s Services as required
  • You will assist the Head in delivering the holiday playschemes and will be expected to manage a provision. We currently deliver 10 weeks of holiday playscheme
  • Ensure that our services are in line with the Early Years’ Framework and will assist the Head in implementing the framework at other projects
  • Lead, supervise, and support Out of School Service Workers and tutors, ensuring training records are maintained, training needs are met, and staff are effectively managed and supported
