Are you confident in assessing educational provision which may look different in every family you visit?We are looking for an Inclusion Support Officer to work with families that have chosen to electively home educate. We are looking for someone that can build upon the positive relationships we have with our families and work with the community to make that even better.About You…

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level professional qualification in a relevant education, SEND or children and family field
  • Experienced in working in children or educational services providing support directly to families
  • Have strong skills in communication, problem solving and be able to bring a range of services together to think creatively and bring about change
  • Able to write clear, child centred reports and be organised and able to prioritise

About the role…
The Inclusion team are a small team who work with schools, other services and families to support education. Duties will include:

  • To work with services and families to ensure that children who are EHE are receiving their educational entitlement
  • To act as the first point of contact for families and work with them from the point at which they are identified as EHE
  • To assess education in line with section 7 of the Education Act, be prepared to think on your feet, be supportive and positive and sometimes have difficult conversations where education is unsuitable

The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.Please note the postholder will need to be able to drive to travel around the county.The Inclusion Support Officer interviews will be held on Friday 22 November 2024.
