IT Project Manager
Overview:
Our client, a large Transportation Organisation is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with a background in cybersecurity, responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of IT projects. This role involves overseeing end-to-end project execution, ensuring alignment with standard project management practices, and delivering high-quality outcomes across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of IT projects in line with established PMO Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring scope, budget, and timelines are met.
  • Define realistic and project-specific goals, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including assumptions, budgets, schedules, and milestones.
  • Coordinate cross-functional and third-party resources as needed.
  • Track project progress, manage activities, and produce regular status reports.
  • Maintain and actively manage RAID logs for assigned projects.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with Change Management and Quality Assurance standards.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and expectations at all levels.
  • Facilitate and attend project meetings, daily stand-ups, and review sessions.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement by providing feedback and suggestions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT Project Management or a related field.
  • PRINCE2 certification (required).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT project management. Experience with data management, software development, or IT security projects is a plus.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies, including facilitation of stand-ups, planning meetings, and retrospectives, is advantageous.
  • Proven commercial acumen, including budget and schedule management.
  • Experience leading multiple workstreams and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional multitasking and prioritisation abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite, especially SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and Office applications.
  • Highly organised and process-oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to identify issues and drive solutions.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in team and leadership roles.
