Read on and apply today!Your new roleAs a Virtualization Architect in our Global Data Centre team, you will architect and manage virtualization solutions that drive the future of compute and storage platforms and support strategic initiatives like Data Centre expansion and infrastructure insourcing. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will align solutions with Novo Nordisk’s operational goals while proactively optimizing infrastructure utilization and reliability.Key responsibilities:

• Architect and manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware ESXi).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate infrastructure with business applications and services.
• Develop and implement strategies for infrastructure automation and lifecycle management.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, capacity, and reliability.
• Establish and monitor performance metrics to ensure optimal infrastructure utilization and availability.
• Develop and maintain architectural documentation and audit-ready records.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.

Your new departmentThe Virtualization Architect role is part of the Global Data Centre team, within the Cloud & Corporate Infrastructure (C&CI) organization. The team plays a critical role in Novo Nordisk’s global IT landscape, supporting enterprise operations while driving initiatives that push boundaries in innovation and efficiency.Your skills & qualificationsTo succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in designing and managing virtualization architecture within large-scale enterprise environments (10+ years preferred).
• Proven expertise in VMware technologies (e.g., vSphere, vRealize Operations), backup platforms (e.g., Veeam, Commvault), and enterprise storage systems.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with ServiceNow and infrastructure automation tools.
• Solid understanding of data centre operations, network segmentation, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Danish.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with hybrid cloud and public cloud integration (Azure, AWS).
• Familiarity with GxP and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience leading infrastructure insourcing or Data Centre migration projects.

Certifications such as:

• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or equivalent.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) in Data Center Virtualization (or current equivalent).
