Together, these efforts will serve to increase the speed, enhance the robustness and improve the sustainability of our exploratory research and early discovery activities.The OpportunityThe Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking to add to its team an experienced, highly motivated, collaborative, and customer-centric lab-based scientific professional who is passionate about using functional proteomics approaches to support early stage drug discovery. The successful candidates will have a robust background in the life sciences, as well as broad experience in developing and applying complex proteomics workflows to investigate post translational processing, activation state, localisation and interactions of proteins of interest and across the proteome. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team, interacting with experts from each of our therapeutic disease areas and functions to advance drug discovery projects, and will participate in the continued evolution of the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform within the pRED organization. In this role you will:Plan, design, execute, and analyze hands-on experiments with a high degree of autonomy to interrogate the proteome for functional characterisation of disease biology, model system characterisation, and to support target assessment and identification of drug mechanisms;Develop, optimize, and implement innovative, integrated functional proteomics workflows covering experimental and computational aspects;Apply scientific rigor to optimize newly implemented and / or developed proteomics workflows to ensure high-quality FAIR data generation, collaborate with other laboratory and bioinformatics teams to analyze and interpret LC-MS-based proteomics data, be accountable for the timely generation of comprehensive project reports, and engage with stakeholders to present and discuss findings in a dynamic and flexible manner;You will embrace a culture of continuous learning by actively engaging with the latest scientific literature to stay at the forefront of emergent technologies/approaches in the functional proteomics field; present findings and updates to internal stakeholders and at scientific conferences (where appropriate), ensuring cutting-edge expertise is cultivated and maintained.Who you areYou hold a PhD degree in Biochemistry or a related field with additional professional experience, either as a post-doctoral researcher in an academic setting, or as a scientist in the pharmaceutical industry / biotech sector;You are a skilled experimentalist adept at designing and executing complex functional proteomics studies. You are experienced in the analysis of post-translational processing and modifications, studying protein localisation and protein-protein, protein-lipid or protein-R/DNA interactions using technologies such as: BioID, µMaps, LOPIT, APEX, TPP, IP-MS.You have exceptional competency in the processing, analysis, and interpretation of advanced proteomics datastreams, with the ability to integrate with other OMICS technologies being considered a plus.In addition to your scientific expertise and critical technical skills we are looking for candidates who are:Customer-focused with a drive for growth and a questioning mindset.
