Job Description Summary The Laboratory Team Leader will be responsible for providing technical support for jet engine component repair processes and process validations, ensuring process compliance, and driving continuous improvement within the laboratory. This role involves the operative coordination of mechanical and chemical laboratory tasks, as well as leadership and management of laboratory staff.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
To lead Chemical Lab, Mechanical Lab & Calibration lab
Ensuring the quality, accuracy, robustness, and efficiency of our laboratory processes
Act as a focal point between operations, product-, special process-, NPI engineering and quality engineering for laboratory related matters
Develop and improve lab related testing processes to ensure the compliance with aviation standards
Oversee process validations to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laboratory processes and equipment
Ensure all laboratory processes comply with relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory tasks
Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards of process compliance
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Monitor and analyze laboratory performance metrics to drive improvements
Coordinate and oversee daily operations of mechanical and chemical laboratory tasks
Ensure proper allocation of resources and scheduling to meet laboratory objectives
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure it is calibrated and functioning correctly
Work closely with Engineering to develop new lab testing procedures and requirements
Supply supporting data to engineering and operations to enable increasing Process First Time Yield
Provide internal trainings to laboratory team and schedule external trainings
Proactively apply LEAN principles and tools in everyday work
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
All other duties as assigned within the job scope
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or PhD in Material Engineering, Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry with 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Strong oral and written communication skills ENGLISH and HUNGARIAN
Strong engineering/technologist position, experience working with material testing and relevant laboratory processes (tensile testing, hardness testing, metallography, sample preparation, titration, etc.)
Required Experience
Proven experience in laboratory leadership, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving and solution driven approaches to address complex challenges
Background in chemical or mechanical disciplines preferred, with experience in material testing
Familiarity with quality assurance systems is advantageous
Strong technical documentation skills
Metrology experience
Has had exposure to material testing, characterization, and analysis of material data
Demonstrated ability to utilize Route Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) to identify and analyze problems
Prior experience in area of R&D or New Product Introduction Initiatives
Advanced use of MS Office tools such as Excel and Word
