The Structural and Molecular Microbiology research group, affiliated with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Flemish Institute for Biotechnology (VIB), is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented laboratory technician / scientific collaborator to support protein biochemical research. The candidate will be involved in academic and industrial research projects related to the use of protein nanofibers in biological textile materials.Responsibilities
Cultivation of bacterial cultures for recombinant protein productionPurification of proteinsCharacterization of proteins and protein nanofibers through SDS-PAGE, Western blot, electron microscopy, and DLSContribution to the support of practical work related to protein production and purificationYou have a Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Technology / Master’s degree in Bioengineering or Molecular BiologyYou take pride and satisfaction in accurate, neat, and efficient workYou are a strong team player with effective communication and reporting skillsExperience in protein biochemistry is a plus, but recent graduates in laboratory technology can receive additional training.We offer
A full-time position as a laboratory technician / scientific collaborator with remuneration depending on experience. The position is available immediately and is initially for a minimum period of 2 years, with the possibility of extension for an additional 2 years.How to apply?
