Job Description:CLOSING DATE 1 SEPTEMBER 2024. Lead/Senior Piping and Layout EngineerAs our new Senior Piping and Layout Engineer you will act as a Discipline Lead in projects and your role will be to lead and coordinate a team of internal and/or third party engineers to ensure that the team meets and exceeds the performance targets. You will create a good working environment and a strong team spirit and contribute with advice and skills to our global organisation. You will also mentor junior engineers to help them succeed.MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform piping and layout engineering tasks in tenders and projects in compliance with NOV internal and project specifications.
  • Take the role as lead piping and layout engineer as needed in tenders and projects.
  • Review and advise on the development of the piping and layout engineering work done by the project/tender team or third party to ensure that the design meets project requirements.
  • Review piping and layout design in 3D modeling environments such as AVEVA E3D, Bentley Microstation, etc. as well as in isometric piping drawings and define necessary modifications/improvements. Follow up the actions on other team members in the project.
  • Operate and deliver according to quality, budget, deadline and HSE expectations.
  • Contribute to improvements and standardization of working methods and tools with special focus on efficiency, quality, cost and HSE.
  • Organize, participate and actively contribute to discipline and interdisciplinary technical meetings, including interface meetings.
  • Contribute to tenders and projects on schedule, budgeting, risk assessment, manhours, team allocation.
  • Spot, analyze, report – technical deviations, non-conformities and lessons learned.
  • Assist and cooperate in the change management process.
  • Participate in supplier / site testing activities as needed by projects.
  • Participate in hazard evaluation workshops as required by projects (HAZOP, HAZID).
  • Participate in quality and technical audits as requested by management.
  • Work closely with peers in order to reach common goals of the business.
  • Mentor junior members to help them succeed in their tasks.
  • Contribute to creating a good working environment and a strong team spirit in the local Norway team and globally.
  • Some travelling should be expected as needed by projects

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline degree, BSc as a minimum, MSc preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years, preferably 10 to 15 years of experience in piping and layout engineering in energy, process, renewables or oil and gas industry.
  • Extensive experience in use of international standards such as API, ISO, NORSOK, ASME and the EU commission.
  • Multidisciplinary engineering understanding and ability to collaborate with other engineering and non-engineering teams
  • Ability to see the big picture in piping and layout design and take actions by prioritizing own work tasks
  • Experience with fabrication/construction follow up and sound understanding of its cost drivers

Advantageous skills: lead and expedite the use and implementation, at administrator level, of 3D modelling tools in use at NOV Process Systems such as AVEVA E3D, Bentley Microstation, etc. Task samples as below;

  • Create database, user, site, team.
  • Drawing setup
  • Rvm export setup
  • Allocate database, able to move the location of the primary database
  • Able to provide monitoring of planned tasks
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken. Norwegian language is an advantage.
