  • Show willingness to create improvements that benefit both the business and people.
  • Have an interest in home furnishings and retail, and preferably have experience from the retail industry or from a large organization.
  • Be passionate about leadership and have previous experience in leading, either from previous jobs, school, volunteer work, or other activities.
  • Have clear communication skills in both Danish and English, as English is our corporate language.
  • Be motivated to become a leader in a leading retail organization, with full responsibility for both employees and your part of the business.

Key responsibilities (title) A day in your life with usKey responsibilities (text) Welcome to a day in your life with us, where your leadership trainee program opens the doors to a world of opportunities and learning. Throughout the program, you will be assigned to a specific department within sales, customer service, logistics or communication and interior design. We ensure that during your leadership trainee period, you will have the opportunity to rotate between different functions, allowing you to explore various areas and gain a versatile experience in your training.
In collaboration with an experienced leader, you will not only gain insights but also have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills. Here, you will learn the importance of giving and taking responsibility while actively participating in your leader’s daily work.
Our training program has a practical orientation, with most of the learning taking place “on the floor” alongside your colleagues in operations. This not only gives you a unique understanding of the business reality but also the opportunity to translate theory into practice.
After completing the program, you will have a say in choosing your future department, allowing you to shape your career in line with your interests and competencies.Your leadership trainee program will equip you with knowledge about:

  • Your personal leadership style, the ability to lead both yourself and others, and an understanding of IKEA’s leadership philosophy.
  • Skills in coaching, development conversations, and handling difficult conversations.
  • Theoretical and practical experience in the retail industry and various business methods.
  • Skills in recruitment, budgeting, and staffing planning.

  • You will be part of a shift rotation with both staffing and responsibility hours; additionally, you have influence over your own working hours according to the business’s needs and the following:
  • Depending on the department you are placed in, your working hours will vary within the following time frames:

– For positions in logistics, work can be expected during day and evening hours or night and morning hours, depending on the department you become part of.
– For positions in sales, customer service and communication and interior design, you will primarily work day and evening hours between 08:00-20:00.

  • You should expect to work one to two evenings per week and every third weekend.
  • Salary according to IKEA’s salary policy.
  • We offer various employee benefits, including a pension scheme, health insurance, massage scheme, canteen scheme, staff discount, discount schemes with partners, annual gift, and bonus scheme, etc.
  • Start date: June 1, 2025.
  • Group interviews will be held on April 1, expected between 9 AM – 4 PM. We expect to hold individual interviews in weeks 14, 15 and 16.
  • Personality tests will be used in connection with the interviews
