We prove advisory and legal services and add value to and improve DNV’s operations, as well as promoting integrity and ethical business conduct across the organization.Group Compliance works globally, with tree members based in Norway (Høvik/Oslo) and three members based in Germany (Hamburg). We meet on a regular basis to ensure close collaboration. We are headed by the Group Compliance Officer located in Hamburg. The Group Compliance Officer reports directly to the Board of Directors (Audit Committee) and the Group CEO on Group Compliance program, developments and compliance incidents.As we are further growing in our Group Compliance unit, we are searching for a Legal Counsel, to join our team. We are looking for a curious and self-driven candidate with experience in Compliance topics as well as project management skills to join our team. The position is based in Norway.Area of responsibility for the position:

  • Legal advice under the scope of Group Compliance with an emphasis on export control law/ sanctions.
  • Handle compliance cases related to all topics in Group Compliance in alignment with other internal units, coordination of investigations.
  • Drive awareness through communication measures incl. global training initiatives like organizing classroom trainings, participate in global compliance networks to keep awareness on a high level and facilitate interaction with the business areas.
  • Participate in developing Group-wide instructions and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other internal units to develop and implement elements of the sustainability strategy aligned with the company’s values and goals, advise on sustainability reporting and disclosure obligations.

  • Master of Law degree (Master i rettsvitenskap) or equivalent with solid academic credentials
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in compliance and/or export control law
  • Professional fluency in English and Norwegian
  • Easily builds relationships and trust
  • Has a positive and proactive attitude towards problem-solving
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in teams
  • Result-oriented with the ability to inspire people
  • Willingness to travel
