They offer a comprehensive range of legal services to both individuals and businesses, delivering practical and tailored legal solutions.Position Overview:My client is seeking a Legal Secretary to join their Commercial/Residential Property Team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee earners, ensuring the smooth running of the department. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a professional approach to client service.Key Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe and produce correspondence and documentation requested by fee earners via digital dictation and Outlook, ensuring accuracy and correct formatting.
  • Handle all general conveyancing duties, including:
  • Preparation of contract packs.
  • Ordering property searches.
  • Preparing and submitting SDLT forms.
  • Submitting applications to HMLR.
  • Open and close client files as instructed by fee earners.
  • Produce invoices and assist with billing.
  • Liaise with clients via telephone and in person, handling queries efficiently and professionally.
  • Take accurate messages and relay them to the appropriate person without delay.
  • Provide cover for other secretaries when required due to holiday or illness.
  • Manage diaries, schedule appointments, and arrange meetings for fee earners.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of all client documentation and information.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed to support the delivery of excellent client service.

Requirements:Essential:

  • Experience working in an office environment, ideally within a property team at a law firm.
  • Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail.
  • Typing speed of at least 60 WPM.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general administration.
  • Strong teamworking skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively.
  • A good level of education, ideally including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • A professional and friendly demeanour.

Desirable:

  • Experience using a case management system.
