The Treaty provides for a global verification regime, including a network of 337 facilities worldwide, a communications system, an international data centre and on-site inspections to monitor compliance.Organizational SettingThis position is located in the Training and Outreach Unit, Capacity Building and Training Section, International Data Centre Division (IDC).Reporting LinesUnder the supervision of Chief, Capacity Building and Training Section, to:Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of information resources, ensuring efficient access to and organization of library materials, and support the development and implementation of information management systems to enhance resource accessibility for CTBTO staff;
- Support digitization and digital curation projects, administer the e-learning system and infrastructure;
- Maintain the collection and distribution of scientific journals/books, CTBTO technical documentation and publications, the Library facilities (signs, physical collections, furniture distribution, innovation);
- Provide Library services and support Library patrons using reference tools and electronic resources;
- Arrange for the procurement of journal subscriptions, books and subscriptions to electronic information services;
- Keep under review requests for and the routing of journals;
- Maintain the CTBTO Library site to provide information services to CTBTO staff;
- Act as focal point of contact for the CTBTO to the Vienna International Centre Joint Library Catalogue shared with the other UN libraries;
- Act as Secretary to the PTS Library Advisory Group, organizing meetings, writing minutes and presenting status reports;
- Assist the staff of the in the processing and publication of technical papers;
- As a part of the Capacity Building and Training Section, assist in the administration and organization of training events and workshops;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- Completed secondary education and appropriate library training.
Work Experience and Qualifications
- At least five (5) years of relevant working experience in the field of library administration, archives, information network administration, or documentation control, preferably part of which should have been in an international environment;
- Practical knowledge digitizing documents, publications, and/or other physical or digital objects;
- Experience with the administration of e-learning systems;
- Thoroughness and attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize work schedule to meet client needs and deadlines.
Languages
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential;
- Knowledge of other official CTBTO languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable.

RemunerationCTBTO offers an attractive compensation and benefits package in accordance with the policies of the International Civil Service Commission.
