Migrantcirklen is looking for new dedicated English & Danish teachers to lead our weekly classes!Become an English or Danish teacher for refugees, migrants and asylum seekers, at our community space in Copenhagen.For many migrants and refugees, leaving their home and arriving in a new country can be linked to trauma and uncertainty.
And lacking English or Danish skills can make it even more difficult to nagivate in a new culture, new legal system and build those vital of social support, that most of us take for granted.Even migrants who have been in Denmark and contributed to society for years, can struggle to meet the language requirements for obtaining Danish citizenship, since they don’t have the opporunity to practice conversation on a regular basis.Therefore Migrantcirklen is offering free Danish and English classes, for people wih migrant or refugee background!
The lessons take place once a week, but the knowledge you share will leave a lasting impact on many lives.About you:
We expect you to have experience teaching language, preferably on a professional level or as a long-term volunteer.
You are able to explain things thoroughly and accomodate different levels and educational backgrounds.
It is also a big plus if you speak Arabic, Farsi or Kurdish and can facilitate classes in this language.Your work will be supported and supervised by an experienced teacher.As a volunteer at Migrantcirklen we offer you:

• Development of your skills and experience in supporting families, youth, and elderly who need a network and language skills.
• A strong sense of community with other passionate volunteers, including events and gwt-togethers for the volunteer team.
• Optional Arabic lessons
• Valuable insight into the current conditions of refugees and the asylum system in Denmark.
