Job description

We are looking for a Material Planner to manage and coordinate material flow for jet engine repairs at our rapidly expanding company, GA Telesis Engine Services Oy (GATES), located in Vantaa, Aviapolis.
In this role, you will work closely with our Customer Support, Logistics, and Purchasing teams, ensuring seamless material availability for jet engine overhauls and repairs. Your responsibilities include managing inventory levels, addressing material delays, developing contingency plans, optimizing inventory use, and improving the supply chain in collaboration with the Procurement team.
Our Procurement team consists of 10 experienced material planners and purchasers, operating from our Logistics facility near Aviapolis. In this role, you will specifically oversee material flows for the SPAH team, which specializes in jet engine quick-turn repairs and is located in our main facility at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
Although this role is mainly office-based, we value a hands-on mindset and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, including a willingness to visit Production to investigate issues and seek new development opportunities.
Your technical background or previous experience in similar roles, coupled with a deep understanding of supply chain management concepts, will make you the ideal fit. Fluency in reading manufacturers’ technical manuals is a definite plus.
This is a full-time permanent position. At GATES, we prioritize teamwork and close collaboration, which is why we expect our employees to work on-site at our office.Your responsibilities:

• Plan parts to be installed to engine.
• Proactively manage and monitor inventory levels
• Issue purchase requisitions and oversee inventory purchasing
• Execute configuration control
• Monitor and improve supply chain in co-operation with purchasing team

What you need to succeed:

• Technical education or relevant work experience
• Ability to handle large complex datasets in a structured manner
• Strong written and verbal English skills; Finnish language skills are a bonus
• Knowledge of material planning and/or purchasing process
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Flexibility in working hours
• Proactive mindset and ability to exercise independent judgment
• Willingness to make quick and thoughtful decisions that benefit the business
• A keen eye for detail
