More than 1.800 employees are striving to work together to improve lives for patients and animals in our region.THE OPPORTUNITYThe Medical Affairs Lead CM/ Medical Manager CV is a scientific leader in the Medical Department, with the responsibility to lead the lead a group of Medical Manager(s) and/or Medical Science Liaison(s) (MSL) within Cardio-Renal-Metabolism (CRM) Therapeutic Area (TA).In addition, you will be responsible to define the local medical strategy for current and upcoming indications in areas of high-unmet medical needs. You will lead the medical projects within the TA as defined in the regional plans, provide medical expertise, and share key insights from the field to the Brand team.Finally, as Medical Affairs Lead CM/ Medical Manager CV you build engagement and relations through collaboration and knowledge by supporting other functions including Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, QM, Market Access and Clinical Operations.The work location is Brussels, and you will report directly to the local Medical Director in Belgium.YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain network and interact with EE’s and other health care professionals, authorities, patient organisations. Initiate and manage clinical and scientific activities and projects.
  • Ensure medical strategic input for the different products in the TA during the full lifecycle (pre-launch/launch/LCM). Provide therapeutic area and product training for sales representatives and medical colleagues.
  • Lead the Medical Manager(s) and/or MSL(s) within the CRM team, while maintaining medical affairs responsibility for CRM portfolio.
  • Develop training plans in collaboration with Sales and Marketing, including in-field training of sales representatives.
  • Collect scientific insights to be integrated into Clinical Development Programs and support Clinical Operations.
  • Ensure external focus of both Medical Managers (50%) and MSLs (80%), defined as training and preparing, facilitating and performing customer facing activities.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, MD) and / or Master Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Around 5 years of work experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in the field of Cardio-Renal-Metabolism (CRM) is preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English and French/Dutch languages.
  • Network with national/international Scientific Experts.
  • Knowledge of the clinical trial design and process.
  • Knowledge of the Health Care System and the pharmaceutical industry in Belgium.
  • Able to challenge conventional thinking and established practices.
  • Proactive and able to anticipate to future needs and spot new opportunities.
  • Sets high standards and drives results by giving and seeking feedback.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders (local & international).
