Crossfell Health Centre is looking for a mature, enthusiastic, multi-skilled Receptionist, with a flexible, calm, compassionate approach to join our team.Essential qualities in our ideal candidate would be good team work, flexibility and ability to work in a variety of roles and under pressure . The nature of the work demands excellent people skills, confidence in using IT, Sytemone and a willingness to be flexible. You would be working in a supportive environment but an ability to remain calm under pressure will also be necessary.Experience in general practice (or similar health setting) is ideal but not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.Main duties of the jobMain duties of the job are to support the daily clinical work through:
- Call handling, managing appointments, care navigation for patients, and general administration
- Facilitating timely processing of documents, including scanning
- Ensuring prescriptions are processed acurately
- Answering patient queries
- Ensuring clinic rooms are kept stocked
- Being efficient in the management of the appointment system

About usThe Crossfell clinical team consists of 3 Partner GPs, 4 Salaried GPs, 3 practice nurses, and 2 HCAs for our list of 9300 patients. - Greet patients and visitors to the practice face to face and/or on the telephone being courteous, polite and helpful.
- Book in/cancel/amend patient requests for appointments in person or via the telephone accurately using the practice appointments system and established procedures.
- Respond and/or redirect all patient requests either written or verbal accurately and accordingly using established procedures
- Ensure messages are recorded accurately and passed to the appropriate team member using established procedures.
- Book patients into the most appropriate clinic according to needs and established procedures.
- Producing and distributing completed prescriptions using established procedures.
- Send District Nursing/phlebotomy requests accurately via the internet
- Not to give out any clinical advice to a patient without first checking with the GP or Nurse
- Process mail using established procedures.
- Ensure scanning is accurately scanned onto patient notes using established procedures.
- Maintain supplies of GP/Nurses medical equipment in their rooms.
- Ensure Pathlab results are processed correctly to the GPs or attached to patient notes using established procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Secure/open the building at the close/start of each working day.
- Respect and maintain privacy, dignity, confidentiality at all times.
