Job Description:Medical Secretary | Private hospital | Liverpool | Permanent | Full time | 37.5 hours per week | £25,956 per annumSpire Liverpool Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary to join our team on a full-time and permanent basis.Spire Liverpool Hospital is a leading provider of private hospital treatments for our patients in the North West of England. With a full multidisciplinary medical team, we’re specialists in a wide range of treatments. Our high-quality accommodation and aftercare means we’re committed to looking after you and your health.Working Hours: Monday to Friday between 8 am and 5 pmContract Type: Permanent, Full timeAs Medical Secretary, you will be responsible to provide a full medical secretarial service to consultants.Duties and responsibilitiesThese will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide an efficient and timely secretarial service to assigned consultants and any other associated teams
  • Produce medical letters, operation/clinic notes and discharge summaries in a timely manner
  • Answer telephone queries, and refer as necessary
  • Provide patients with information relating to their appointment with regards to potential Hospital and Consultant fees
  • Chase patient results and ensure they are ready for the consultant to review prior to, or at the next appointment
  • Type discharge summaries dictated by Consultants as required
  • Manage Consultants’ mail including distribution
  • Develop good working relationships with consultants, administration teams, nursing staff and any other departments

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience in a similar role, including providing a full high quality service to consultants and patients
  • Audio typing experience is essential
  • Full knowledge and application of MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for customers
  • Working collaboratively
  • Have a systematic and organised approach to work
