Do you want to advise citizens about their legal problems and help make a big difference? Then we are looking for you!!YMCA Social Work has provided free legal advice since 2012 and in the summer of 2025, Legal Aid will open 11 new locations in the country!Those seeking advice often need advice and help in matters that are confusing to them and it can take time to get to the heart of the problem. Citizens are often deeply grateful to be taken seriously and to regain their perspective.The areas of law are often tenancy law, family inheritance, employment law, social law and many more.As a volunteer, we expect you to:
- Want to make a difference for people who are struggling
- Can communicate with many different types of people.
- Can dedicate 2-5 hours every/every other week, either Thursday or Friday.
- are a law student (you may be on the bachelor’s degree) or are a lawyer/attorney.
We offer:
- Practical experience with legal advice and case management.
- Responsibility for own cases and versatile tasks/issues.
- Internal training day that will prepare you to work as a volunteer advisor, as well as ongoing volunteer courses and meetings, as well as ongoing professional sparring with skilled lawyers.
- Opportunity to strengthen your network.
- After 12 months of volunteer work, we offer a written statement for your CV.
- A job where you have the opportunity to make a difference.
- That you become part of our 150 volunteer counselors at the legal aid offices and at our 28 debt and financial counseling locations.

Citizens are often deeply grateful to be taken seriously and to regain their perspective.The areas of law are often tenancy law, family inheritance, employment law, social law and many more.As a volunteer, we expect you to:

- Can communicate with many different types of people.
- Can dedicate 2-5 hours every/every other week
- Have a relevant professional background or education, e.g. social worker, lawyer or law student (you should have completed the 4th semester of law school.)
