We would like to invite applications for the following new Full-Time Permanent roleParking Permit Service ManagerClane, Co.KildareIWA is committed to promoting, maintaining and adding to our diverse and inclusive work environment.Irish Wheelchair Association is a designated authority under legislation for the issuing of Disabled Parking Permits. The Parking Permit Scheme plays a very important role in supporting the independence of Irish Motorists with disabilities. Reporting to the National Transport Manager, the successful candidate will manage both the daily operations of the Parking Permit scheme and the strategic development of the service.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe service manager will manage the operation of the service in line with IWA policies and procedures to ensure delivery of a high-quality service.A key element of the role will be to ensure that permits are processed and administered in accordance with national guidelines and legislation.The service manager will be required to support and guide permit administration staff in processing applications.Communicating on an ongoing basis and developing relationships with the Dept of Transport will be a critical part of the role.The successful candidate will also be required to work effectively with the Gardai and parking enforcement agencies nationwideEnsure that your responsibilities to safeguard children and adults from abuse or harm is a core aspect of your role and that IWA’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures are adhered to.PERSON SPECIFICATIONTraining, Experience and QualificationsA QQI Level 7 or 8 degree or professional qualification or higher in a relevant discipline is essential.A minimum of three years in a supervisory management role with people management experience essential.Previous experience of dealing with the general public and being the point of escalation for complaints is an advantage.Previous experience of working within the disability sector or similar services is an advantage.Candidates from other sectors need to be able to demonstrate that they have relevant transferable skills.Knowledge and SkillsStrong communication, creativity, problem solving and decision-making skills.Strong time management and planning skillsExcellent negotiation and influencing skills.Experience of working with people with disabilities is desirable.Strong administrative and excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office & Database Management) are essential.Fluent English speakerBehavioursThe ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.An ability to build strong relationships at all levels.Strong customer service focusFlexible approach to workHigh level of confidentialityCompetenciesCritical analysis & decision makingCommunicating & influencingMotivating & empoweringAdaptability, drive & resilienceAccountabilityRemuneration & BenefitsAnnual Salary between €51,590 to €63,502 DOEVouched expenses and mileageExcellent working conditionsTraining & development opportunities25 days annual leaveAccess to Defined Contribution Pension schemeEmployee Assistance ServiceThe closing date for applications is Wednesday 26th March 2025Documentary evidence of your relevant qualification(s) will be required in advance of or during the recruitment process.
