In this role, you will contribute to the production and presentation of cold foods, desserts, and cakes, helping to deliver memorable culinary experiences for our guests. Working closely with the Assistant Chef, you will follow current menus while also playing an active role in the development of new dishes in line with Hurtigruten’s culinary concept, Norway’s Coastal Kitchen.Are you hungry for new challenges in a company with high ambitions and full speed ahead? Duties and responsibilities
- Production and processing of cold foods, desserts and cakes
- In collaboration with Ass. Chef follow current menus, but still be a driving force for the development of dishes, menus and dishes according to Hurtigruten’s value foundation “Norway’s Coastal Kitchen”
- Cleaning in accordance with current cleaning plans
- Inform superiors about nonconformities, so that this can be handled by responsible
- Co-responsible for ensuring that the ship’s operational and safety management systems, including internal routines food, are followed up within the area of responsibility
- Other upcoming tasks
Qualifications/Experience
- Certificate of apprenticeship and work experience as a pastry chef. Documentable and relevant experience (minimum 5 years) can compensate for educational requirements.
- Personal suitability will be emphasized
- Must have good English language skills. Scandinavian and/or German language is desirable, but not a requirement
- Hurtigruten set high demands for safety on board, which means that all employees must have; Basic safety course for seafarers, Crowd and Crisis course, and approved health certificate from authorized seafarer doctor. There is no requirement to have completed the courses before applying, but you must be willing to take them, and please note that the individual must pay for the courses themselves
