We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our dynamic Homecare Pharmacy team working to deliver an organised, efficient and accurate dispensing service. This role is working Monday – Friday and is based at our Alcura site (NN4 7PU).Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the required roles and responsibilities of a pharmacist within the Alcura Pharmacy, to include clinical checks and final accuracy checks. Ensure compliance with current legislation and professional guidance.
  • Where required, the performance of the roles and responsibilities of the designated ‘Responsible Pharmacist’, ensuring compliance with the responsibilities of this role.
  • Under the guidance of the Pharmacy Management Team, help plan and organise work within the pharmacy to ensure optimum use of resource and ensure smooth work flows. Work with the Pharmacy Team to deliver service levels and response times as required.
  • Conduct and support with formal and informal training, predominantly internally but may include conducting external training on occasions where experience and knowledge permits.
  • Complete any queries to a timely resolution, which will involve communicating professionally both internally and externally with patients, clinicians, customers and colleagues.
  • Assist in and manage the implementation of any corrective and preventative actions as needed to ensure patient safety is maintained.
  • Undertake training as needed and required for your role in full and on time, ensuring all key competencies are achieved so that excellent standards of service are maintained.
  • Provide support where required, to the pharmacy operation, which may include undertaking dispensing work in line with current legislation and company policy.
  • To help the site management ensure the security of the personnel, premises and stock at all times, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain GPHC registration at all times. Undertake regular CPD and relevant training to ensure an up-to-date knowledge of new and existing therapeutic areas.
  • Work closely with other members of the Pharmacy Team in reviewing current processes within the department to ensure that it operates effectively, safely and efficiently.
  • Assist the Superintendent Pharmacist and Pharmacy Management Team in delivering the pharmacy customer service, safety, cost and quality objectives.
  • When required, assist the Pharmacy Management team to complete CAPA investigations for complaints and incidents through Q-Pulse, helping with the implementation of appropriate preventative actions where needed.
  • Provide drug and technical information to colleagues, patients, clinicians and other healthcare professionals, to help Alcura provide our customers with the best possible service where knowledge and experience permits.

.Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Qualified GPHC registered Pharmacist.
  • Eligible to fulfil the role of ‘Responsible Pharmacist’.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with patients and clinical staff effectively.
  • Proven solid work performance record with a focus on accuracy.
  • Experience working in a variety of pharmacy settings (desirable)
  • Understanding of Homecare Pharmacy practices (desirable)
