We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Support Worker who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.The post holder will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to work in our busy manufacturing unit within the pharmacy department at the Lister Hospital.We have a state-of-the-art unit that has undergone extensive refurbishment. This is an exciting time for you to join our team and work in a brand-new facility.The Lister Pharmacy Aseptic team is a growing and progressive team that makes personalised medicines, mainly injectable chemotherapy doses, in clean room environments for our Trust’s patients.At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be expected to follow strict standard operating procedures in the preparation of drug products.You will partake in the aseptic preparation of medicines as well as assembling and transferring drugs and consumables into the clean rooms.You will be creating documentation using pharmacy software systems.The successful candidate is required to be able to work methodically and have rigorous attention to detail. You must be willing to meet the strict personal requirements for clean room working and be dexterous to undertake aseptic preparation, including the manipulation and use of needles and syringes.In house training and accreditation will be provided to achieve the required level of competency; on-going validation of aseptic technique is a requirement of the post.About usAt East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust, we are proud of the range of general & specialist services we provide & our 6,000 or so dedicated staff ensure our patients get the best care.
