Job Description:The Cosmic Dawn Center (DAWN) at the Section for Astrophysics and Atmospheric Physics at DTU Space, invites applications for a postdoc position starting in October 2025.DAWN is a centre of excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation, and is located at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Space) and the University of Copenhagen. The centre brings together experts in all aspects of early Universe galaxy evolution and is deeply involved in major existing and upcoming surveys with HST, ALMA, Euclid and JWST, as well as cosmological and zoom-in simulations. This call cover a postdoc position based at DTU-Space. DAWN has a number of associate members at major research institutes across Europe, North America, and Australia. The postdoc position is intended for an outstanding candidate with a background in theoretical astronomy and with interest and experience in semi-analytical models and submillimetre selected galaxies, who are interested in doing research in collaboration with senior researcher Bitten Gullberg and her group as part of the SUBSTANCE (SUB-millimetre SelecTed gAlaxies iN Cluster Environment) project. SUBSTANCE focuses on mapping the environmental impact on the evolution of submillimetre-selected galaxies. Collaborations with other DAWN scientists at DTU Space and NBI, as well as our international institutes associated with DAWN are encouraged. You are also expected to help create a stimulating and fun research center at DAWN. We also encourage DAWN postdocs to mentor and supervise BSc and MSc student projects, and co-supervise PhD students.As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).We offer

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.The period of employment is three years. We contribute to about 200 scientific publications a year.In the Astrophysics & Atmospheric Physics Division of the Space Research and Space Technology Institute (DTU Space), current focus areas cover large-scale structure of the universe, physics of compact objects, exoplanets, upper atmosphere physics and cosmo-climatology as well as development of instrumentation, in particular high-energy instrumentation, i.e. X- and gamma ray detectors and -optics. The division is currently active in the operation of instruments and data analysis from three satellites.
