Through our culture of recognition and motivation for exceptional work, we care for and value our employees, just as we do the patients we serve.At our exciting scientific research site with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, our goal is to understand the dysfunctional neural pathways that underlie psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders to implement precision therapies. We now have the opportunity within the Department of Neuroscience to take up a 3-year postdoctoral research position to contribute to the evaluation and implementation of innovative, context-specific animal models of disease using cutting-edge and advanced analytics.Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform neurophysiological experiments, implement and validate novel technologies for EEG data collection and analysis in rodents.
  • You will also have access to a
  • Ability to independently plan, organize and prioritize own work to make the most effective use of time and resources emphasis on innovation, collaboration, and timely delivery of results.
  • Seek innovative ideas that add value to the project activities and provide ad hoc support for coordinating operations with external preclinical imaging collaborators on combined EEG/MRI recording modalities.
  • Act as a “team player” contributing to achievement of the project’s objectives, build effective collaborative working relationships with team members, understand and accommodates the needs and priorities.
  • Provide independently high-quality reports of analyzed results in slide deck in a timely manner and into electronic lab notebook to ensure data integrity and tractability.
  • Independently read and interpret scientific literature, design, perform, analyze and interpret in vivo data to define new experiments, studies or analyses for the progression of the projects
  • Strong work ethic and motivation

Education:

  • Ph.D. degree with working knowledge in Neuroscience, electrophysiological tools (EEG) in academia or pharmaceutical industry

Experience and Skills:Required:

  • Knowledge in preclinical EEG science and techniques is required.
  • Experience with optogenetics and/or neuroimaging is highly desirable.
  • Experience with advanced signal processing e.g., MATLAB, Python, ICA, source localization, and other analytic methods for studying electrophysiological data.
  • European certificate for animal experimentation (FELASA B or higher) is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is required.
